This evening we study what our Belgic Confession teaches us about "ecclesiology," or the doctrine of the church. The Apostle Paul in his letters used a variety of images for what it means to be united to Christ and thus to be a part of His Church: citizens of God's Kingdom, members of God's family, part of God's Temple, and so on. No matter which of these pictures that he paints for us, however, Paul always stresses that faith in Jesus Christ is the essential element that binds God's true church together.
Tonight we learn: 1. The universal nature of all those within God's True Church.
2. The individual responsibility of all those within God's True Church.
