A. A Charge to the Rich in this World: Vs. 17-19 1. Don’t think of yourself as “Above Others.” God may have blessed you in some particular area, but… a. It is God who blessed you. b. God blesses other people in other areas. You don’t know how he is blessing others.
2. Don’t be “High Minded.” 1 Pet. 4:5“Be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
Gal. 6:14But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
3. Don’t put your confidence in uncertain riches. Even as our purpose/focus/chief end shifts from God’s kingdom to Money. So our Trust often shifts from God to Money.
4. What to do with your money? a. Trust rather in God. . .
b. If you can trust God, you can enjoy your material blessings.
Hold Money Loosely. Hold God tightly!
c. Do Good With Money. Look out for opportunities to give Be Fellowshippy…. Koinoinokos
1) Fellowship is participation… Intense participation… 2. Fellowship calls for you to give something up of yourself. (2 Cor. 8:4, Phil. 4:14,15, Heb. 13:16) 3) Fellowship is a positive and approving relationship. Eph. 5:11, 1 Cor. 10:20 4) Fellowship brings about a warm, relational knowledge. Eph. 3:9 5) Fellowship takes on different qualities and quantities as God gifts us. 1 Pet. 4:8-11

B. One Last admonition. Vs. 20 1. Keep that which is committed to your trust. Take responsibility. 2. Avoid profane and vain babblings and oppositions of knowledge falsely so called.
