SAN FRANCISCO, FEB. 25, 2001 (CBS News) - An earthquake registering 4.4 on the Richter scale shook up Californians Sunday afternoon, from Marin County in the north, on down to San Francisco, Montery County, San Jose, and Santa Cruz, and east to Modesto.
The moderate quake, which struck at 3:18 p.m., was followed by at least four aftershocks, ranging in strength from about 1.4 to 2.1.
CBS News Station KCBS-AM's Holly Quan reports the windows in the South Bay area were rattling - longer than usual - and then came a stronger jolt.
There have been no reports of casualties or serious damage.
