Pope says communists are closet Christians

Pope Francis, whose criticisms of unbridled capitalism have prompted some to label him a Marxist, said in an interview published on Sunday that communists had stolen the flag of Christianity.

The 77-year-old pontiff gave an interview to Il Messaggero, Rome's local newspaper, to mark the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, a Roman holiday.

He was asked about a blog post in the Economist magazine that said he sounded like a Leninist when he criticized capitalism and called for radical economic reform.

"I can only say that the communists have stolen our flag. The flag of the poor is Christian. Poverty is at the center of the Gospel," he said, citing Biblical passages about the need to help the poor, the sick and the needy. ...

That Antichrist has been around for centuries and he is still active. You would do well to defend the Gospel (if you knew it) rather than The Antichrist.
Would give your post a hearty Amen!!

Pope says.....
"Earlier this month, he criticized the wealth made from financial speculation as intolerable and said speculation on commodities was a scandal that compromised the poor's access to food."

How the Pope lives in ....
"It is impossible to calculate the wealth of the Roman Catholic Church. In truth, the church itself likely could not answer that question, even if it wished to.
Its investments and spending are kept secret. Its real estate and art have not been properly evaluated, since the church would never sell them.
There is no doubt, however, that between the church’s priceless art, land, gold and investments across the globe, it is one of the wealthiest institutions on Earth." (National Post)

Communism is a cult just like the Roman Catholic cult. Both use gullible ignorant people and line their own pockets of finance and power.

John Y., you may be surprised in at least some of the instances when we agree, I think it is fine. Out there in world, I have known many likeable Catholics many even I wish would become Christian because I'm truly sorry the don't, and we can agree and even work in a minor way in politics, as long as it isn't forwarding the plan of the fairy princes, i.e., the bishops.

I'm going to agree with Strat, also the Barnes commentary,

Matthew 26
11 "For the poor you have with you always; but you do not always have Me.---NASB

Barnes wrote:
Verse 11. For ye have the poor, etc. Mark adds, "Whensoever ye will ye may do them good." It was right that they should regard the poor. It was a plain precept of religion, (see Ps 41:1, Prov 14:21; Prov 29:7; Gal 2:10,) and our Saviour would not prohibit it, but do all that was possible to excite his followers to the duty. But every duty should be done in its place, and the duty then incumbent was that which Mary had performed. They would afterwards have abundant occasion to show their regard for the poor.
The first duty of a Christian is to spread the Gospel

The comments of The Pope, aka The Antichrist, reveal a different gospel other than the one defined in 1 Cor. 15:1-4. Therefore as the Apostle Psul said:
Galatians 1:8 KJV
[8] But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

KJV
Romans 8

9But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

The gospel is not poverty - the gospel is Christ

True Christians say The Pope, aka The Antichrist, is an out of the closet communist. While Christian are required to give to the poor, it is not done by force through heavy taxation. The Bible does not teach Robbin Hood tactics of stealing to supply the poor. Nor is it done without discretion. In fact, Paul teaches that those who do not work, should not eat. But, not only does our government feed the lazy, they supply them with a cell phone and other luxuries AND pay their monthly bills.

"Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of God".Poverty in India is a curse.I believe it is same all over the nations. Both capitalists and communists in India are EQUALLY horrible people.A nation can remain blessed only when its God is the Lord Jesus Christ.

"Poverty is the center of the gospel"

A complete lie, poverty is the result of a fallen world and to the degree that man does or does not follow the laws of God poverty exist, for this man and his kind poverty is a means to power and control, keep people poor, ignorant and dependent and your power is assured.

He despises capitalism because it offers people the chance to be all that God created them to be using the talents he gave them,a sharp contrast with poor desperate people hanging on to his every word vainly searching for hope in a religion that offers none.

Hi John, I'm glad you agreed. So many tend to believe thay "good"people go to Heaven. This Pope, along with many others, Mother Theresa, etc, etc, have done some decent things but not a single one of those deeds gained them entrance or got them closer to it. Everything they did was for naught. Unfortunately.
