Israel strikes Syria, says targeting Hezbollah arms

Israeli jets devastated Syrian targets near Damascus on Sunday in a heavy overnight air raid that Western and Israeli officials called a new strike on Iranian missiles bound for Lebanon's Hezbollah.

As Syria's two-year-old civil war veered into the potentially atomic arena of Iran's confrontation with Israel and the West over its nuclear program, people were woken in the Syrian capital by explosions that shook the ground like an earthquake and sent pillars of flame high into the night sky.

"Night turned into day," one man told Reuters from his home at Hameh, near one of the targets, the Jamraya military base. ...

Jim,

Dispensationalist are by definition Zionist. The people who have faith in in the Jesus, the Son of God are both Jew and Gentile. The dividing line is no more. The temple serves no purpose anymore and never will. Jesus the Son of God is the new temple.

Lisa, nominal Christians are being persecuted, The forgotten Christians of the East, but then Jews have a hard time of identifying whose Christian! Christian Zionists: The Real Terrorists. But, with the U.S., it shouldn't've mattered who was persecuted, because it's a part of the U.S. Constitution to protect freedom of religion and speech--it's our tradition. Something that we failed miserably at in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Now, I didn't pull this commentary by Miss Glick from the Jerusalem Post, and it does have many good points, Time to Confront ....[You know who! ]. But the simple matter is Christians and others will be treated less well by the rebels than by the Assad regime. What replaces Assad will be just as bad as he is. So, American and British inaction is understandable. Miss Glick at the end of her commentary seems to realize that Israel is going to have to protect itself, and not expect the U.S. to do it. I hope their government does realize and we give them enough weapons to do it.

"Baptists in Syria are appealing for prayer for peace in the Middle Eastern country as the civil war drags on, severely affecting the lives of the country's citizens, including the lives of Baptists and other Christians.

Mouner Ajji, pastor of Aleppo Baptist Church, reported that Baptists in the area of Aleppo known as Midan were among those who were able, for the first time in days, to get out of their houses on Sunday, September 16. Government forces had re-established control over that section of the city that had fallen into the hands of rebels, enabling freer movement."

There is a great deception going on called ecumenism ( everyone who professes faith in a Jesus and a Hebrew god are Christian and it's about time that we forgot our differences and joined up as one church). The idea that catholic orthodox believers are being persecuted is part of the ecumenist agenda. But this is not true persecution- which is the targeting of true believers who are indwelt by the holy spirit .
Romans 8 vs 9
But ye are not in the flesh but in the spirit, if so be that the spirit of god dwell in you. Now if any man have not the spirit of god he is none of his.

somehow I remember a number of months ago western powers arming and funding some freedom fighters...

na, why would that matter?

... translation, they are "Catholics" because we know little about them and therefore don't need to get too concerned about the beheadings, kidnappings of believers for their faith....

here I thought it was to get Assad, who happenend to be trying to keep out the freedom fighters....

...aw, would someone please get me back on track with the storyline? I think I've lost my page.

I think Syrian Christians are mostly of catholic persuasion. There are Christian groups out there supporting them. The Barnabas fund is one Christian organisation that I know of supporting these people.

To contextualise- imagine if you were living in the USA, and say someone was transporting chemical weapons into Mexico and Mexico was at war with you. Would you allow this to go on unchecked. Please imagine your country surrounded by militant Islamic terrorist groups who were in power. Would you feel comfortable and safe. These countries are right on Israelis back yard ( I stood on Carmel Israel and protested at the Lebanese checkpoint manned by Hezbollah ). You could see Hezbollah men in the tower.
John 7 vs 24
On a secular level, I cant condemn anyone supporting our ally.

However, my prayers do go out to the Syrian Christians caught in the middle of the Syrian Jihadis, Iranian provocateurs and the IDF attempting to exploit the Civil War in their favor
