She is the musical darling of American conservatives: a God-fearing farm girl from Oklahoma who became a music phenomenon on the back of wholesome hit records about faith, family and the greatness of the United States.
Until now, that is. In a development that will doubtless outrage her many fans on the religious right, the nation's most popular country singer, Carrie Underwood, has come out vehemently in favour of gay marriage.
"As a married person myself, I don't know what it's like to be told I can't marry somebody I love, and want to marry," she said. "I can't imagine how that must feel. I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love."
...
Fear God, you do well to point out that the The Bible Says Homosexuality is Sin, and that people will turn away from sound teaching. Apparently, it's time she stop her work and follow this advice:
Titus 2:3 ¶ Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, 4 so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 {to be} sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.---NASB
I would suggest her fans become fans of somebody else and give them their support.
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. (2 Timothy 4:3, 4 NKJV)
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11 NKJV)
But these speak evil of whatever they do not know; and whatever they know naturally, like brute beasts, in these things they corrupt themselves. Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah. These are spots in your love feasts, while they feast with you without fear, serving only themselves. They are clouds without water, carried about by the winds; late autumn trees without fruit, twice dead, pulled up by the roots; raging waves of the sea, foaming up their own shame; wandering stars for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever. (Jude 1:10-13 NKJV)Now the purpose of the commandment is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience, and from sincere faith, from which some, having strayed, have turned aside to idle talk, desiring to be teachers of the law, understanding neither what they say nor the things which they affirm. (1 Timothy 1:5-7 NKJV)

The majority of African-American voters in California voted for Obama in 2008, but the majority of them also voted for prop 8 which banned same sex "marriage." Are they defying the so-called "many" pastors who support it?
Are the many African-American pastors who clearly state that Jesus is Lord but also support same-sex marriage, damned by somehow committing the unpardonable sin?
If she had claimed to be a Christian, she was a sadd excuse for one that is for sure; it never ceases to amaze me how so many especially Christians can be taken by these Hollywood types; why not follow Christ Jesus, He will never lead you wrong!
Mark M. wrote: For "our" parts, the churches need to clearly define what the Bible says about this "gay" lifestyle, and at the same time try not to be so hateful toward the people who are trapped in it.
Most times it's thought to be "hateful" if a Christian even so much as expresses disapproval or condemnation of homosexuality, and turns out the person is a homosexual who heard them speak even a hint of revulsion or disapproval is now "the enemy."
Jesus said, "If they hate me, they will hate you too."
Being a Christian is not a bed of roses. The narrow straight road is a hard road and Jesus said most people don't make it to the end; and even those who do get to the end of the straight road Jesus said still won't get in because they won't strive hard enough to push through the narrow door or "strait gate."
We should be preparing to meet our maker if it's still possible to do anything. For some it's not, for some it is.
I don't follow Carrie Underwood much, but I think she's a genuinely positive artist. She's like everybody else. She probably goes to a church that is weak on the whole 'gay' issue. The mainstream media clearly sides with the 'gays' and makes people who disagree with the lifestyle out to be the bad guys. She probably then feels both a genuine sympathy for the 'gays', a trait that many, many "Christians" share;especially "Christian" women and to one degree or another she has the desire to sell as many albums and concert tickets as possible, so she doesn't want to offend potential customers.
For "our" parts, the churches need to clearly define what the Bible says about this "gay" lifestyle, and at the same time try not to be so hateful toward the people who are trapped in it.There are times when the media does twist the actions of conservatives to make them look like the villains, but, in more cases than we would like to admit, "we" actually are hateful. Everyone has sinned and is worthy of nothing less than Hell. We should hate the lifestyle and should stand against "gay marriage", but in the end, we should care about the people.
I personally think we put entirley too much stock in anything entertainers, sports hero's, news casters say and not enough time with the bible and their own family... Once popularity kicks in, whether it is a politician, entertainer or a sports figure, they will pander to the widest audience to make sure the maintain their popularity.
For those who play or have played sports can understand this analogy. Every team has a play book and they use that to their benefit but what does not happen is one player uses another teams playbook while playing for another team. The Christian's playbook is the Bible and Satan's is the world and the flesh. So if you are a Christian you can't be on GOD's team and use plays from satan's playbook (gay marriage and abortion.) God's play on sodomy is that is an abomination. Although Carry is the darling of the country music world she is definitely not on GOD's team after making her statement. Now if she is truly repentant we can trade for and bring her back to the team. Or was she ever really on the team. Did her views evolve (that's a joke?)like our President who seems to be captain of the satan's "All new worlder's."

I must admit that I have never heard fully one Carrie's songs.
However:
'Webb Michael Pierce "was one of the most popular American honky tonk vocalists of the 1950s, charting more number one hits than any other country artist during the decade.'
When I was a kid I loved Pierce's "In the Jailhouse Now":
"...I told him once or twice quit playin' cards and shootin' dice He's in the jailhouse now..."
Oh my am I giving away my age? Not really. You see I have two ages and two birthdays. In relationship to the second birthday I am still a young man.

'Underwood, whose new album Blown Away knocked Adele off the top of the US charts, draws much of her fanbase from evangelical Christians, speaks frequently about her faith and has made religion the subject of several of her best-known songs, including the No 1 country hit "Jesus Take the Wheel".'
If Carrie keeps on being a spokeswoman for the endorsement of Gay marriage she may find herself in the near future "Blown Away" by Jesus Christ in a way she doesn't like.
Sadly Carrie is a common example of American Evangelicalism... She is probably getting weak preaching from the pulpit and doesn't bother to read Scripture on her own. She has compromised the faith and at this point probably doesn't even know the real Jesus Christ as found in Scripture.
