Obama Proclaims June LGBT Pride Month; Celebrates Evolving Attitudes
President Barack Obama called on Americans to celebrate evolving attitudes toward the homosexual community as he proclaimed June as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month.
"This June, let's take some time to celebrate teachers and students who take a stand against bullying, openly gay and lesbian servicemembers, ... families and friends who have seen their own attitudes evolve," he urged.
Obama made the proclamation Friday and expressed again his evolved personal belief in "marriage equality for same-sex couples" "because we must treat others the way we want to be treated."...
The decrees of God relate to all future things without exception: whatever is done in time, was foreordained before time began. God’s purpose was concerned with everything, whether great or small, whether good or evil, although with reference to the latter we must be careful to state that while God is the Orderer and Controller of sin, He is not the Author of it in the same way that He is the Author of good. Sin could not proceed from a holy God by positive and direct creation, but only by decretive permission and negative action. God’s decree is as comprehensive as His government, extending to all creatures and all events. It was concerned about our life and death; about our state in time, and our state in eternity. As God works all things after the counsel of His own will, we learn from His works what His counsel is (was), as we judge of an architect’s plan by inspecting the building which was erected under his directions.

Barry Watson, I recently heard a local pastor comment on how (this would be his interpretational attitude) God would do whatever He wanted to do and not do anything He did not want to do, essentially telling his audience, 'Do pray but don't expect like it is really going to matter one way or the other.'
IMHO I tend to believe this pastor seriously missed it on prayer BECAUSE Jesus, who knows what He is talking about, told us to Ask! and we would receive, Seek! and we wold find, Knock! and it would be opened for us.
And Jesus backs it up with the parable of the friend who needs 3 loaves at midnight. And of course Scripture is filled with all sorts of encouragement to the believing child of God to pray in faith God will graciously hear and answer.
Here is what I like to tell "modern day Calvinists": If you want to really know the Sovereignity of God you must pray!

Hit the nail right on the head Brit. not one worth voting for or sadly even trust

Perhaps Thanksgiving Day should also be co-opted for America's teeming homosexuals. Surely this supersedes an occasion where some pilgrims sat around a table trying to explain to a few Native-Americans just how terribly-immodest they were.
A prominent baptist pastor's sermon on the President's for gay marriage:
"Our culture long ago embraced ...
1. The sexual revolution of the 60s and 70s ...
2. The idolatry of sex and the diminishing of marriage ...
3. The ubiquity of the birth control pill and the severing of human sexuality from its connection to children and family.
4. No-fault divorce and the idea that we can change spouses like we change sox [sic].
5. That there’s no difference between men and women, gender is just a social construct that we learn from culture, not something given to us by God at creation.
6. And closely related to this, the idea that gender shouldn’t matter when it comes to human sexuality. And so we have a whole generation of young people who see nothing at all wrong with homosexuality.
No, our culture’s devolution didn’t begin last month with an announcement from the President. This slide has been a long time coming."
Embracing the first 4 or 5 points, leads denominations down the primrose path to a final acceptance of same-sex marriage and openly-gay pastors -- even by the church -- if it were possible.

You have shown why there is the response called the Tea Party Movement. There is no reason to suppose that which is a "foolish idea" has to remain an idea. Why have confidence in a mentor of Bill Clinton?
I buy it when people say there are no good candidates. However, I do think there are better candidates. When Republicans are in office the government does not openly fund overseas abortions, we don't have LGBT craziness forced on us, murderers are still executed and in general, at least on paper, the views of the GOP are closer to traditional Christian values than their liberal counterparts. There are many specifics, "log Cabin" republicans, any given scandal, that show Republicans are just as bad, but I'll bet any of the babies murdered through Obama's "Christianity" would have preferred McCain.
I wish we had good candidates. We don't. However, why wouldn't you vote for the lesser of two evils? If our choices are to be beaten or to be beaten and set on fire...I think I'd rather just take the beating. Not voting means you voted for the winner. Voting to change Obama by choosing a third party candidate means that you are actually helping Obama to win. The only viable option for change, although only minor, superficial ones, is Romney. Otherwise, you can move overseas and work like I did.

Unfortunately, the way things are arranged, Christians who do not vote have still made a choice. They are voting for Obama.
