Church to bless pets, alive or dead
Since Epworth United Methodist Church started its Blessing of the Animals service in 2008, Lewes resident Ken Mahan and his family have brought their pets and the ashes of deceased pets to the church to celebrate them.

This year, the family will be bringing their two rescue mutts, Ben and Jerry, along with the ashes of two deceased dogs, Otis and Sir.

"It's a wonderful outreach that says we need to support not just the people in the community, but the animals in the community, because God made the Earth, God made the animals and God made the people," Mahan said. ...

God made the sun and moon and trees and oceans and stars and planets and mountains and galaxies and they need your support, John.

Whoever said we should suppport the people in the community? Let alone the animals.

Ah, but then, it is a United Methodist Nominal Church with no born again believers in attendance. Thankfully for Lewes there is a Reformed Church which, being in a martyr memorial town, still upholds biblical truth and maintains the memory of the brave martyrs who suffered under the persecution.

Bad apples never fall far from the tree, though I thought this was an Episcopal church, aping the Romish one. God's attention doesn't need people to point out his creation to him. The bigger picture.

Praying for dead pets or people is completely anti-Christian. The Truth Behind The Church's Purpose is not praying for pets.
