A new book by a major New Testament scholar is sure to make mincemeat of many people's faith. Needlessly.
The scholar is the iconoclastic Dr. Bart Ehrman, who teaches religion at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
The book is called Forged: Why the Bible’s Authors Are Not Who We Think They Are. Ehrman said on a radio broadcast that about 75 percent of the New Testament documents are supposedly forged. They’re frauds.
Dr. Sam Lamerson is a conservative New Testament scholar who teaches at Knox Seminary in Ft. Lauderdale. (By way of full disclosure, I earned a theology degree there). He heard Ehrman on a radio broadcast say words to this effect: “I want to be the scholar that uses the F-word about the Bible. I want people to know that these books were forged.”...

THE HISTORIC AUTHORIZED ENGLISH "KING JAMES" BIBLE OUTSHINES ALL THE OTHER "MODERN" ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS (i.e. The NIV, TNIV, NASB, RSV, NEV & ETC.) THAT ARE BASED ON HISTORIC 'BIBLE' "FORGERIES": TRANSLATED FROM THE EGYPTIAN, ALEXANDRIAN-ARIAN, "WESTCOTT & HORT", HERETICAL, PERVERTED, CORRUPT SINATICUS-VATICANUS "OLD & NEW 'TESTAMENT' HEBREW & GREEK" MANUSCRIPTS !
THIS MAD-DOCTOR, "Dr. Bart Ehrman", Is Making An Open FOOL Of Himself For Uttering Such NONSENSE & Intellectual LIES In Stating The Historic English "King James" New Testament (& The Erasmian New Testament Textus-Receptus) Is A Forged Document !
The "F" Words Defining EHRMAN Are Spiritual "FORNICATOR", "FOOL", "FAKE" & "FRAUD" ! ! !

Actually Mike this topic is not far off Jim's dialectical altercations. Since the NIV, TNIV and the modern versions are "forgeries" too. And especially the New Testaments which stem from the Greek texts.

Matthew 19:9 KJV Adultery carried the death penalty, so this "putting away", this "divorcing", was obviously as a result of fornication committed before marriage and discovered by the husband to be. This was the case with Joseph, who "was minded to put her (Mary) away privily", because he believed she had committed fornication during the bethrothal period but before their marriage. The translators of the NKJV (and NASB, RSV et al) could not conceive of a "divorce" before a marriage, so they mistranslated the text and missed the whole point of what Jesus was saying.

At first I was going to say "Not at all. Jim would be on target, since this Is about the bible"
But then I re-read what you were responding to. In a weird ironic way, I guess you would be right.

""heard Ehrman on a radio broadcast say words to this effect: “I want to be the scholar that uses the F-word about the Bible. I want people to know that these books were forged.”"
Poor ignorant Mr Ehrman he doesn't know the truth, which in turn means that Satan and sin have control over his life and heart. He is not saved.
The great thing which real Christians become aware of is the power of the Word of God. Psalm 119:98 Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. 104 Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way."
Talking about hating every false way - We hate what poor Mr Ehrman has produced, because we know the truth.
John 14:17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Is someone selling a kit on how to produce these books? Seems like it's one after another now. Someone makes up some ridiculous claim. Then the media covers it. Then people buy the book because of the attention.
The only way to stop this is to quit paying attention to people who are following this script. Without attention, these books will be in the remainder bin in six months.

Jesus responded to the (tempting) question of the Pahrisees like this:
