Woman seeks 'Christian roommate,' state cites her for discrimination
A single, 31-year-old woman in Michigan who posted a note on her church bulletin board seeking a "Christian roommate" to share her residence has been cited by the state for violating the Fair Housing Act by discriminating against those of other faiths.
The complaint signed by Tyra Khan, a "Civil Rights Representative" of the state of Michigan Department of Civil Rights, surfaced when the Alliance Defense Fund announced today it was representing the woman.
ADF spokesman Joel Oster confirmed the organization sent a letter to the state explaining that such housing rules don't apply to people living in their own homes and wanting to share their resources....

My husband feeds me well here in Canada. Today I ate an apple, banana, yogurt, chow mein left overs and a Hungry Man microwave meal.
In Canada we have The Canadian Charter Of Rights And Freedoms. We are guaranteed fundamental freedoms, so as long as it is deemed not to endanger another individual:
"2. Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms:
(a) freedom of conscience and religion;
(b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;
(c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and
(d) freedom of association."

The person called: "Obey" from Canada, I don't know what they are eating? But here in Canada, we are guaranteed religious freedom according to our law.
But also according to our law, "Obey" from Canada also has the freedom to share their beliefs and opinions with us.
I don't know what they are feeding you in Canada, but in the United States, we still have Christian liberty, and we will die for it.

I doubt whether this lady even thought of the so called "Fair Housing Act" when she pinned her note on the church notice board. Therefore "submission" to a long list of acts is not actually relevant. Even Peter would not have thought in terms of pages and pages of regulations when he wrote his Epistle.
I also doubt whether everybody in all communities in Canada or elsewhere are acquainted with all the local housing regulations.
Finally I doubt whether this lady was "discriminating" against "other faiths" it probably never entered her mind. - There is only ONE faith that of faith in the Son of God.

That was too hilarious! If our pets didn't know about salvation in Jesus our Saviour, it would be catastrophic! _______________________________________________________
If I read the article correctly, the woman in this write up is under false allegations. Because she is not running rental properties, but it is pertaining to whom she has in her own house.
She posted her request in a Church building, I wonder who tattled?
"And in Pope Benedict XVI, Ms. Fredericks, the chairwoman of the fledgling American branch of Catholic Concern for Animals, believes that she has found a kindred spirit: Along with an enormous entourage and a message of peace, the Pope brought with him to the United States a lifelong love of cats.
Benedict’s kindness toward the strays of Rome is already the stuff of Vatican legend. His house in Germany, its garden guarded by a cat statue, was filled with cats when Benedict lived there full time before he was posted to the Vatican in 1982.
And Benedict is, without a doubt, the first pope to have had an authorized biography of him written by a cat — Chico, a ginger tabby who lives across the road from Benedict’s old house in Germany." (N.Y.Times)

It has been explained to him: That it was necessary for Christ to stand in the place of sinful man, to redeem man of his sins. And other foundational doctrines. I was concerned whether it was biblical for me to preach to and teach a male cat: And whether it was biblical for him to be baptized by a woman. This may not be a problem soon, for my husband is about ready to baptize him again. I am concerned though, that it may not be of the right spirit? But that sometimes our cat backslides, and angers my husband. Tonight he appreciated The Lord's Prayer with purrs and is looking forward to God's mercies that are new every morning.

""He said section 604C states it is a "violation to make, print or publish or cause to be made, printed or published any notice, statement or advertisement with respect to the sale or rental of a dwelling that indicates any preference" for a list of nondiscrimination categories, including religious belief.""
Why not just state that "as a citizen of this community you are not allowed to think for yourself."
Big Brother is watching you!
Freedom of the individual is ok within the dictates of the bureaucrats who rule your life.
Animal Farm. Quote; "Years pass, and the pigs learn to walk upright, carry whips, and wear clothes. The Seven Commandments are reduced to a single phrase: "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others."
This frivilous case is simply disgusting but the really sad part is; how did this woman's request for a female Christian roommate leak from a church's private bulletin board into the hands of a state civil rights department which has absolutely no jusisdiction within a church.
Back in the 1980s when I was a student at Cal Poly, SLO, CA, at least 10% of all roommate wanted adds posted on the vast student union bulletin board specifically requested that the applicant be "Christian".
It wasn't descrimination, but simply preference on the part of the one posting the ad.
People these days REALLY need to lighten-up on the whole PC attitude that seems to be overheating our modern hyper-sensitive society
