Letters place Pope at centre of child abuse scandal
Secret documents today placed Pope Benedict XVI at the centre of allegations of cover-up by the Catholic church of a priest sex abuse scandal in the United States.

Letters from the Vatican show that the enforcement department headed by the pontiff, then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, took control of the efforts to bring paedophile priest Father Lawrence Murphy to justice, first ordering in 1997 that a church trial could only go ahead in conditions of total secrecy and then changing tack in 1998 and quashing it. ...

John, It is unscriptural to assert that the R.C.C. is Christ's representative kingdom on earth, as Rome does.

The Pope’s Plans on Organizing
Political, Economic & Religious Activities Worldwide / Richard Bennett

Excerpt:
To organize “the community of peoples and nations, in such a way as to shape the earthly city” is to work to implement a terrible snare. The Lord Jesus clearly proclaimed, “My kingdom is not of this world.” Jo. 18:36 The Lord fulfilled all righteousness in respect to fearing God and fulfilling His law. Plainly, the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ is heavenly, not a “globalized society” on earth. True believers in the Lord Jesus Christ live in the world as He did. They are in the world, but they not of the world. In contrast, the kingdom of the Pope of Rome is very much of this world. Papal Rome binds men in political, economic and religious activities. Papal pronouncements documented here can only be understood in the light of the Pontiff’s continued plans for world government. His presupposition is that the kingdom of God already exists in the Roman Catholic Church. This is consistent with his teaching in his new Catechism, “The [Roman Catholic] Church is the seed & beginning of this kingdom. Its keys are entrusted to Peter.”34
34 Catechism, par.567

So, there is nothing that the Vatican can say that won't make anything a pope does Christian.

How can you state that the Papacy is false? The Pope is just the earthly leader of the RCC and not the Vicar Of Christ. There is nothing false about being the earthly leader of the RCC. Just as there is nothing false about there being a Bishop as the earthly leader of the Assembly Of God Church.

We just had a spokesman priest for the Vatican speaking on TV (UK) and saying that poor old Popeye Joey the Ratzinger, ex Hitler youth is innocent.

Apparently Benny the 16 has been stitched up by the NY times.

Why??

He said that before Joey was informed the statute of limitations had run out on this particular paedophile priest.

Poor Benny.

I hope you guys are going to commiserate with him.

Charles Spurgeon wrote:
Christ did not redeem his church with his blood that the pope might come in and steal away the glory. He never came from heaven to earth, and poured out his very heart that he might purchase his people, that a poor sinner, a mere man, should be set upon high to be admired by all the nations, and to call himself God's representative on earth. Christ has always been the Head of the church. C.H. Spurgeon -- MTP Vol 60 pg. 592
So, there is nothing that the Vatican can say that won't make anything a pope does Christian.

If that is true then Benedict XVI should resign as Pope and retire from the priesthood.
