"The kid who he sat next to is pushing him, trying to push him out of the seat and the next thing you know he starts punching him and choking him and punching him some more. It's ridiculous," said Capt. Don Sax of the Belleville, Illinois police department.
The 17-year-old victim received 15 blows in about 15 seconds.
All the while most of the other riders just laugh and point.

Tony quite correctly points out that racism is not just a "white" problem like the Politically Correct crowd would have you think.
When the U.S. Supreme Court forced me to go to a school not of my choice, I was beaten with a stick that first year, and in my senior year watched helplessly as one of my best friends and his buddies were beaten up in a gang fight, outnumbered 5 to 1.
We were white our attackers were black.
While I have forgiven the one who attacked me, I have no doubt that the Lord has already administared divine justice to him because He takes it very seriously when someone touches one of His children. (See Psalm 18.)
Racism is only one facet of a much broader problem of bigotry which can be sectional, religious, etc. It's a people problem and will be with us as long as there are sinners on the earth.
In the meantime, let us love our enemies and do good to them as the Master commands.

"We just don't know how to deal with it," said Gloria Lopez, whose son Rocco Lopez was stabbed in the neck as he walked to an "L" station about 7 p.m. with a friend.
Police said Lopez, 32, of the 2100 block of South Spaulding Avenue got into a dispute with a man in an alley near 1100 West Berwyn Avenue that led to his death.
During the argument, the man stabbed Lopez in the neck with a kitchen knife, then did the same when Lopez's friend rushed in to help, Sgt. Karla Chaplin said. Police describe the attacker as AFRICAN-AMERICAN, in his 30s, 180 to 220 pounds, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 1 inch tall, and wearing a white T-shirt.
Lopez was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 7:42 p.m. Lopez's friend, an unidentified 18-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with a stab wound to the neck but is now stable, police said. Officials said no one has been charged in the attacks..."

An off-duty Chicago Police officer is accused of assaulting a CTA bus driver last weekend after the driver cut him off while the officer rode his bicycle in the Loop.
CTA Spokeswoman Noelle Gaffney said the attack happened aboard a No.62 bus near State/Monroe on Saturday, Sept. 12 about 9:20 p.m.
According to Gaffney the male bicyclist became upset at the bus driver for allegedly cutting him off in traffic, and the officer boarded the bus and assaulted the male driver.
The bus driver was injured and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Two officers already on board the bus arrested the off-duty officer following the assault.
Ilana Rosenzweig, a spokesman for the Independent Police Review Authority, said the agency is investigating allegations of a police officer striking a bus driver.
“Its under investigation,” Rosenzweig, who said she did not know whether the officer has been disciplined for his actions."

Good post Frank. let me add one to that. After the paddling and facing the kids friends. I would have to go home to my father. That was perhaps the worst of all. My father NEVER beat me. But for some unknown reason when he spanked me it was a terrible experience. I think this is were we are lacking our children today.
Here's how the problem was solved back when I was going to school (60's). 1. The kid would get his butt beat in the school office with a paddle. 2. He would probably be expelled. 3. He would have to face the friends of the guy he beat up (big mistake). Needless to say, this seldom happened. These punks need to be, shall we say, "corrected" in a VERY firm manner.
If I was a school kid now, I would not like to come between two people fighting. But that video is sickening, and I hope the boy that carried out yet another beating on an American bus will be expelled at the least.
