U.N. protocol used to regulate homeschoolers
A British plan to allow local authorities "the right of access to the home" and "the right to speak with each child alone" in order to evaluate homeschooling families and make certain they do what the government wants is a warning about what could happen in the United States, according to the world's largest homeschool advocacy organization.

"On June 11, 2009, a report on home education in England by Graham Badman, a former Managing Director of Children, Families and Education in the County of Kent, was accepted in full by the British Secretary of State for Children, Schools and Families," according to today's report from the Home School Legal Defense Association.

"The report makes the case that homeschooling should be extensively regulated in England," the HSLDA continued. "Aside from registering with the state and mandating reports by homeschoolers, the Badman report makes references to ...

For a more UK centric perspective on this UK issue (i.e. without the idiosyncratic US federal v states jurisidiction issues) I recommend a blog article in the Guardian that accurately anticipated the key recommendations of the Badman report.

(Home) school's out forever?

It's a perceptive and balanced piece and sympathetic to the legitimate concerns and aspirations of homeschoolers.

"We'll have to wait and see how far any new legislation will go, and how hard home educators will resist it, but let's hope we don't end up with a situation like that in Germany, where the ban on home education means for many parents the only option is to emigrate."

The fact that home education is now on the government radar and agenda is a testimony to the rapid growth in Christian Homeschooling in the UK in the last 5-10 years, and a tribute to those Christian parents who have followed their convictions in this matter. May God be with them, strengthen, encourage and protect them all.

"For example, under the international document parents no longer would be allowed to administer reasonable spankings to their children, children would be granted the authority by the state to choose their own religion, the "best interest of the child" would govern all decisions and give the government the authority to override any parental decision, children would have a legally enforceable "right to leisure" and parents would be required to have their children attend state-sponsored sex education courts."

Beware America!

Big Brother Liberalism is coming to take all your rights away and turn your children into Liberals.

"Homeschooling" will be no longer be a protectorate from homosexual perversion, evolution fiction and idolatrous religions.

Isaiah 3:5 And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.
