Just inside the Assemblies of God headquarters, a visitor is confronted by a startling 100- by 56-inch painting of one of the basic tenets of the church — the Second Coming of Christ.
The canvas, painted by California-based artist Ron DiCianni, is one of four commissioned by the Assemblies to illustrate the four core beliefs of the church — salvation, baptism in the Holy Spirit, divine healing and the Second Coming.
"People just want to gaze at them and put themselves in the pictures," said Diane Hayes, who is the receptionist in the lobby.
The paintings, which have been on display since earlier this spring, were dedicated Tuesday morning with the artist on hand.
