(CNSNews.com) - One day after the Senate finished leftover work on last year's appropriations bills, Republicans Friday unveiled a wide ranging list of legislative priorities for the year.
Medicare prescription drugs (S.1), President Bush's tax relief package (S.2), and a bill banning partial birth abortion (S.3) will top the Senate's legislative agenda, if all goes as planned by Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.).
Frist took aim at partial birth abortion, saying, "I can tell you, as a physician, that this particular act... is outside of the practice of medicine today."
The majority leader, who is the only practicing physician in the Senate, called the practice "a fringe procedure which offends the sensibilities of most if not all Americans."
