Dorcas wrote: Well ladybug...some interesting developments on the Foundations thread. Comments scrubbed, add comments button no longer available...hmmm. Maybe it is my fault as I suggested contacting SA or JB directly without (or before)stating the post below. I suspect neither Dr Beeke or SermonAudio want to spend time dealing with comments or passing them on directly. So I apologise to the Moderator for that suggestion, but just trying to make a valid point that it is best to get all the facts and motives before withdrawing or suggesting that we withdraw fellowship with any saint. In other words prove all things from that speaker's writings or sermons-should be simple. |

Ladybug: This sermon by Ovadal may be of interest - http://www.sermonaudio.com/sermoninfo.asp?SID=523132214375Yes I heard such at the time and sermons dealing with the Reformation Heritage KJV and also some articles by Ivan Foster going back to 2013. Some Pastors asked Joel Beeke personally about all the criticism and were satisfied with his answers, some involved with the translation also. We might as well say that SermonAudio is now compromised as it supports Dr Beeke as a friend. I am presently listening to Rev John Wagner one of the best and most able Free Presbyterian Ministers, so do you say he is compromised for being party to the conference as also a friend of Dr Beeke. How can he and those involved with SermonAudio not discern Dr Beeke IF he is so compromised and evidencing any popish beliefs? Both preach to whole counsel of God and the gospel of grace; uphold the received text and identify the Popish antichrist. What evidence is there that Dr Beeke preaches another gospel or is party to the antichrist-if you can direct to one of his sermons or any of his writings, it would be helpful? That is the challenge. |

Great Sermon! An example of movie entertainment to awaken us?
'Wolverine was panned by the critics here, but we enjoyed it. I agree that the language was unneccessary and offensive. In fact, given the rating, I was shocked at it. The sad thing is I never even noticed the blasphemous swear words. I noticed others. My wife told me afterwards. Lesson learned about becoming comfortable with garbage.'
An English Reformed Baptist pastor's comments above proving my point? He enjoyed it despite the offensive language and DIDN'T even notice the blasphemy, then learns the lesson about being comfortable with garbage?
Surely Christian pastors have better things to do? Why not set the same time aside to pray for a member of the congregation or the salvation of sinners in the locality or for God to grant a pure heart dedicated to His Glory. We wonder why there are so few conversions...yet we are sat at the movies or in front of our 50 inch TV screen? Part-time soldiers are of little use in a full time, full scale, spiritual battle? |
