Great Sermon! What a blessing. Sorry I missed this conference. But was tremendously blessed by the simple , yet powerful reminder that we must look to Christ and that without him I can do nothing! |

Great Sermon! Part 2 - Aside from Harold Camping, I thought the idea of God doing away with church buildings, the local church and pastors, was for professing Christian's on the fringes. But it appears that many individuals are being exposed to "Pagan Christianity" and books like it.
I was encouraged to hear how Matthew handled each point made by the book with scriptures, confirming that the Puritans, Reformers and many other sound Christian thinkers throughout history, did not "have it all wrong!"
For me, it is somewhat arrogant and ignorant, to say that all the Saints got this wrong and somehow, a man or group of individuals in our generation have gotten the "truth" on these matters. Therefore, we all need to go back to the "organic church" (term used in Viola's book).
This is another example of why it is so important for every professing Christian to take Jesus' words to heart that a sign of the last days would be deception. We must be sober and alert, "for if it were possible, even the very elect will be deceived!"
Thanks Matthew for taking the time to do this. It is my prayer that many individuals that are searching and reaching the contents of the book "Pagan Christianity", and other materials like it, would come across this sermon. May our Lord give them understanding (Prov |

Very Timely Sermon! Part 1 - A friend called me today about a book called Pagan Christianity by a man named Frank Viola and George Barna of The Barna Group.
Apparently the book is about how the body of Christ and the Christian Church has been wrong for 2000 years on it's view of Pastors, the local church, the church building....Just to name a few things!
I decided to look up the book on Amazon and was shocked by the number of positive reviews that the book received. There were many in agreement with Mr. Barna and Viola's convictions. So I decided to do further research to see what others had to say.
After searching the term Pagan Christianity, I came across this sermon/teaching by Matthew Duerr with Zion Education Seminars.
This sermon did a great job in answering all the points of the book. |
