Just Started and I'm Concerned I just went through the brief intro. I will listen to it completely (Lord willing); however, as much as Pastor Spurgeon said many wonderful things...this quote is not...in fact I have been spending a lot of time counseling young men who have "read" mere sin cursed fallen mens "reason, logic, and philosophy" and become more animated and drawn to their astounding intellect and leave the Bible as almost a secondary source...until we have mastered the Word of God (by the Holy Spirit who will lead us into all truth), I will ignore his / your counsel. I am learning also that the enemy is the designer and builder of "camps" these camps divvy out 80% truth and 20% poison and leadership (in all "camps") vehemently embrace a "all or nothing" ethos to it's adherents...we sheep who love to "belong" capitulate and ingest the poison in order to avoid alienation. The reformers and Puritans had astounding intellects which unfortunately got them into as much doctrinal troubl as the simpleton (In my opinion)...Luther had so much Catholic Philosophy mixed in with his theology that he propagated and we often mindlessly regurgitate his sin cursed logic and reason mixed with his theology and eventually my dear reformed brothers enjoy hearing themselves talk more than hearing the King of Kings declare.
