First, before I even submitted this response I prayed that He repents from what I believe to be false teaching. While I do agree that we do not have all the answers concerning hell or anything else for that matter (cf. 1 Cor. 13:9-12), to say that the Bible gives no explanation for hell is simply not true. Matthew 25:41 makes it clear that hell was prepared for Satan and his angels. Therefore, God did not ordain that mankind go to hell; BUT, GOD HAS ordained the that the heavens and earth, which are reserved for fire, will be destroyed and ungodly men will suffer the same fate (cf. 2 Peter 3:5-9). In summary, mankind will go to hell and suffer eternal punishment for their unbelief - specifically that Jesus is Lord, that He died for our sins and that God raised Him from the dead on the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Cor. 15:3-4). In the meantime, please pray for this Pastor and his flock - that this Pastor repents for his false teaching and that his congregation does not suffer as a result. |
