“ Not a false teacher ”
While looking through SermonAudio's main page and saw the user comments, I was curious as to why someone wrote that this man is a false teacher. I listened to this sermon and I do not agree with that comment. He starts out by preaching the atonement of Christ on the cross for our sins, and affirms that believers are crucified with Christ. The pastor asserts those in Christ have their sins forgiven past, future, and present. He also exposes those who try to earn salvation, when Jesus had to die on the cross because anything beside Him sends you to hell. The pastor also affirms that we are saved by faith, not saved by faith and works. Our salvation is not kept by works, he teaches. These are good, true teachings. The pastor speaks like a Christian -- gentle yet firm, gracious and reasonable, earnest and reasonable. I don't think that it was fair for that person to call this pastor a false teache The only thing I did not agree with was the part at the start about KJV-only teaching. I don't think that is a wise teaching. I was saved while reading the Bible, and it happened to be the NIV. KJV-only preachers are going to be faulted when they stand before God. They need to get understanding and knowledge about language, and pray for wisdom about what they are teaching.

“ What about his wife's comments? ”
That sports illustrated article was actually quite alarming because of things said by Josh Hamilton's wife. She spoke of visions and dreams and God speaking prophetically to her. She even claimed she was ready to divorce her husband if God told her to do so. Another thing she said was, “People that don’t know me probably think I have some kind of co-dependence issue, like I get my value in helping him. Absolutely not. I fully expect him to be the man and husband that God has called him to be. I should never have to assist him in this.” Marriage is a life-long joining together, and spouses are called to be helpers to their spouse. The article is: "THE FRAGILE BRILLIANCE OF JOSH HAMILTON" June 11, 2012, Sports Illustrated.

“ Judging ”
A helpful sermon that examines judgment. The pastor discusses how we are to judge wisely, "Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment." John 7:24. He also points out the prideful heart attitude of the Pharisees when they judged others; and how people tend to use Matthew 7 to justify what they want to do. It's helpful to go all over the Scriptures to study judging. We also are not to judge hypocritically. "First remove the beqm from your own eye..." I once fell to complaining, after I had been diagnosed with cancer and a deadly mistake was made by a nurse who neglected a Doctor's orders. The mistake could have cost me my life. It also wasted about $1,000 in hospital travel costs for my family. Well, when I complained on my FB, a young woman from church who often complained about things posted a bunch of Bible verses on my FB post. The very next week she vehemently complained about being charged an extra $2 on her phone bill. We can't be hypocritical or reckless about judging others!

“ Great Sermon! ”
This is a sermon teaching that the use of nicotine is a form of drunkenness and therefore a sin. I listened to it because I want to learn what counsel the Bible gives regarding tobacco use and I thought it would be a good study resource. However, this sermon was disappointing because it is heavily based upon philosophical arguments, legalism, and twisting of scripture. Romans 14 is given to us from God to teach us about the law of liberty and to love one another in regards to disagreements over doubtful disputes. As Romans 14:1 says, "Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things" (Romans 14:1). This pastor chiefly cites Romans 14:23, "For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin" -- and yet he uses it in a way that goes against everything that Romans 14 stands for. The pastor uses it to say that nicotine is not from faith and therefore sin. The sermon is based upon philosophy and faulty philosophy at that. His premises are: 1. Drunkeness is sin. 2. The Bible mentions people being drunk by using the herb wormwood. 3. Nicotine use is a kind of drunkenness. Therefore, nicotine use is sinful. His 3rd premise was inaccurate. Research for yourself to see whether nicotine causes drunkeness.

“ He's back! ”
I have been waiting eagerly for a new sermon by brother Paul. This is a thoughtful, slow spoken, gentle sermon with great encouragement and admonition, partly about the importance of loving your brothers and sisters in Christ.

Sermon:

“ Solid preaching ”
A very edifying preaching and Bible study resource on false brethren and false gospels. He also makes the point that Paul and the church dealt with the heresies by the word of God not by doctrinal compromise. I was having a hard time finding a sermon on this topic of false brethren as some other preachers did not seem to have much depth and used the subject to merely gossip about members in their churches who had fallen into sins. But this sermon is one I found instruction in and would recommend.
