JimMost of what Luther, Calvin, Beza, Bullinger and the rest of the Reformers wrote was in Latin. It was the international language of the educated throughout Europe. So Latin is important for Protestants. Another very important language for Protestants is Dutch. Kyper and Bavink's works were written in Dutch and there's a huge amount of excellent Dutch stuff that would help the English speaking church grow, if only it was translated. God is at work in the third world today. Expect Him to raise up some outstanding Theologians that write in languages we've never heard of today. Remember, they'll becomeing from every tribe and every tongue to praise Jesus! |

Great reasons to think about homeshooling:The article goes on to say: The American academic Cynthia Lightfoot suggests part of the answer may be connected with the fact that teenagers now spend much more time with each other than they do with adults. "When kids are cut off from adult society they begin to affiliate with each other in ways that historically they did not," she says. "With the advent of formal education, kids are more isolated from the adult world than they have been in the past. They also spend a lot more time with other kids. "So this creates the conditions for the emergence of a youth culture or a peer culture. "And as kids interact with one another, their group affiliation shifts from being primarily the family group to being the peer group." |

GGI am deeply concerned about how Muslims act. The only hope they have (and we have) is if vast numbers of them come to Christ as Lord and Saviour. What I'm trying to say is that this is far more likely to happen if we show them love, respect and if we confidently interact with them with the view of presenting the gospel to them. If we don't do this, we'll alienate them and they'll feel justified in murdering and bombing people that have such contempt for them. Rom 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. (PS, I know you're never likely to come out of the Roman Catholic church if us Protestants continue to act as pig-headed, ignorant brutes towards you. It would be a pity if our pride and arrogance was the excuse you used for rejecting Christ's salvation and the sole authority of His Word the Bible.) |
