Jim, I know Jon from Kansas and he does read his Bible. You point a finger of false judgment at him (for hinting he don't read his Bible) while accusing him of being judge (something you are being). The Bible tells us to use "righteous judgment". You are very liberal on this and that's what liberals do, judge others then say "don't judge"! Governments are on earth to punish bad behavior, this is in the Bible. When the thief on the cross said he deserved to die, Jesus never even hinted that the thief didn't. You need to understand that there is a difference between murder and a government putting to death a violent offender. There are death penalty sins in the Old Testament for as little as cursing your parents. God is our judge, but God also ordained our government to "punish disobedience". Our government executing a killer is the hand of God, fully ordained by Him, found in both the Old and New Testaments.
I never said I wanted to see him hung, I said he should be hung if he is guilty. The Bible endorses capital punishment for murder and that is not the same kind of violence that the boy did, it is called justice! My point you missed altogether which is punish criminals and stop blaming guns for ever violent crime. My response does not prove we are violent, the boy murderer does if anything. I would not desire to see anyone killed, but justice demands it and God ordains governments to carry out the sentence. Look how much gun control has helped your violent state of NY, we have very little violence here and very little gun control.
