1. Many use Romans 3 vs 31 to teach continuity of Moses over the redeemed
2. But is that consistent with Pauline teaching and thinking of the believer's relationship to the Law?
3. I argue that this verse is speaking not to continuity of Moses, but to historical function/purpose of the Law in redemption history.
4. Because if we say the Law is binding on the redeemed then we have too many scriptures that teach the very opposite that Moses has been retired.
5. His ministry was passing away and was the ministry of death and condemnation.
6. So, the only satisfying understanding for me given all the Pauline data on the treatment of the Law is that he was not speaking of CONTINUITY, but of FUNCTION.
