Here we look at the manifold blessings that God has given to those who are His. We are to know these, since His Spirit through His Word has revealed them to us. His desire is that we be totally taken with Him in all our being, and this is what our blessed place will be throughout eternity. Perhaps His greatest gift to us is that He has promised to make us like, or conform us to the image of His Son. We will not share in His divinity, but we will share in and be blessed forever by being made like Him. This being conformed is to begin here. If it is the best forever, it certainly is fitting that it begin while we are here and continue as long as we are here and under the Lord's child training. Because we now have been bought with a price, the precious blood of Christ, He owns us - we are His. We are no longer enslaved to our old nature, or Satan or the world system and now are under His sovereign hand, and we are to set our minds not on the old way of doing things but on what His will and desire for us as we live out our days down here.
