Jesus Christ as the I AM, the Son of God is the Perfect and Final Spokesperson for God! He's perfect in that He was sent by the Father, authorized by Him. He represented the God who is true, and thus when He spoke, Jesus spoke the truth. Jesus sustained the closest relationship with His Father possible, relaying what He hears, doing the works His Father does, and always doing what pleases the Father. Jesus was the perfect representative of God to this world. But He was also the FINAL. In the era in which we live, the time between Christ's first advent and second coming, God has spoken to us in His Son! Jesus Christ is the great prophet, the prophet like Moses spoken of in Deuteronomy 18. He is God's final word to mankind. Therefore, first, we have no need for further revelation; and secondly, we had better listen to and heed what Jesus has to say to us. When Jesus speaks, we had better listen for God will hold us responsible for what we do with Jesus' teaching.
