In fact, most of the proponents of Lordship Salvation would tell us this is indeed a salvation text. Of course, to make this a salvation text, those purporting a Lordship Salvation position must inject their presupposition on the text and take the text completely out its context. Clearly, Jesus is addressing the text to His disciples. Clearly, Jesus is defining the difference between salvation and discipleship.
