Can I share a nugget with you. I think it will help and also help explain a few things about the joy of loving on your spouse. I'm no Greek guy, I struggle enough with English, but I do know Someone who can speak both, very well, and He's helped me with understanding His heart for marriage and ministering His truths to His people. So I'm going to pass on what He's shown me.
There are two places this word is used in the scriptures. One is found in 1 Corinthians 7:3 and the other is in Ephesians 6:7.
It's translated various ways, depending upon the translations, as benevolence, affection, good will.
And it's meaning has the idea of "being supportive and beneficial to meet what is needed in the life of the one you're delightfully rendering good will toward."
The way the Greek word is produced sounds very similar to, "You-know-ah." And, as it is applied in a relationship, with a husband to his wife, implyin |
