Our focus now is set on Isaac. Another famine has struck the land and while he didn't go to Egypt like Abraham he still followed his example and lied about his wife. Most likely this did spark some of the animosity that led to the Philistine's both stopping the wells of water and the herdsmen observing how wealthy Isaac was becoming in their land. All of which lead to Isaac being asked to leave. It's these same blessings though that made the Philistine's realize God was with Isaac and as such they needed him as an ally and not an enemy.
