Our thought life is quite an important thing in our lives. It shapes our attitudes, actions and words. It is a major part of who we really are. The Bible teaches us that we can choose to think certain thoughts, or refuse to do so. We need not be the victims of undisciplined thinking fueled by fear and other negative emotions. All sin begins in our thoughts. We should develop a Christian thought life. A Christian thought life is needed for a life of joy and peace despite the circumstances. We are not speaking of the power of positive thinking and its associated heresies, but rather biblical thinking. The apostle Paul teaches us: "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you." Think these good thoughts and refuse the opposite ones!
