God required the people of Israel to inspect the lambs of sacrifice, for He would accept no sacrifice that was not perfect.
So too our Lord Jesus was inspected by God and found perfectly acceptable as a sacrifice for His people.
But we as Believers are entitled to inspect our Lamb, and when we do, we will find Him perfect and glorious in every particular. Yea, He is altogether lovely!
The world inspected Jesus and found Him unacceptable; yea, there was no beauty in Him that we should desire Him!
Some would use pictures and fables to learn of Christ's perfection, but the Scriptures are our true source of our inspection of Christ. When the disciples on the road to Emmaus thought they had found a flaw in the Savior, our Lord's antidote was to show Himself in Moses and the prophets.
Other texts admonish us to examine Christ, to look unto Jesus, to consider His perfections.
Not only that, but the Holy Ghost testifies to His attributes, and brings to our mind all things concerning Him.
We have many advantages over the poor Israelites in inspecting our Lamb. Theirs was a failing lamb, ours lives forevermore. Theirs developed flaws the older it grew, ours cannot be touched by corruption. Theirs was defeated by death, ours defeated death. Theirs was consumed in judgment, ours consumed judgment for us!
They had to always be inspecting another lamb, for their lambs couldn't take away sin. We have only one Lamb who took away our sin forever!
