Consecration I. Submits to God's absolute authority. * Not a take it or leave it attitude. * Submit to God's authority, the Bible. II. Recognizes all things belong to God anyway (v12, 14, 16). * You are bought with a price. * Selfishness is the focus today. III. Consecration realizes the temporary nature of this life (v15). * Everything is temporary and quickly passes away. * Eternity is what matters. IV. Consecration acknowledges the inadequacies of the greatest sacrifice (v14). V. Consecration requires one thing, a perfect heart (v17, 19). * Real consecration requires sincerity. * Consecration is a matter of the heart.
