As a Christian, how can I please God? This is a question that I believe most believers have asked themselves at one time or another. I believe that the majority of Christians ultimately want to please God. Many will seek to accomplish this by what they do for God, giving of their time, their talents, or their money.

Those are all important things to do; however, today’s verse tells us that the only way to please God is to live by faith. Without faith, it is impossible to please Him. If our giving of tithes and offerings reflects a lack of faith that God will take care of us, our giving won’t please God. If we give a few hours on a Saturday to help the church prepare for an event, but we have a rotten attitude about it because we are “missing out” on our free time, God will not bless.

As we have seen, faith must be the foundation of everything we do. It is the basis for pleasing God. If you want to please God, you must believe God. You need to hear what He says, believe what He says, and live what He says. That’s the faith lifestyle.

Hebrews 11:2 tells us that it was by faith that the elders received a good report. Do you want God to be pleased with your life? Do you want to hear, “Well done,” from your Savior? Then ask Him to help you to exercise more faith in your life.
