Kingdom Baptist Reproves High Point Church
FRIDAY, JULY 27, 2012

Pastor Joey Faust and some members of Kingdom Baptist Church (http://www.kingdombaptist.org), with other concerned Christians, plan to peaceably protest/reprove High Point Church in Arlington, today, July 27, 2012.

This evening, starting at 6:30pm, High Point Church is holding an, "Under God: INDIVISIBLE Leadership Conference," which they claim is dedicated to, "calling our nation back to God." They intend to pray for a "much-needed spiritual awakening." ( http://dfw.undergodindivisible.org/). It is associated with Glenn Beck's "Restoring Love" event.

But what about the love of Biblical truth? We agree that we need a spiritual awakening in our land. We support the right of every person to worship God without persecution from the government. Men like Bancroft (an early American historian) and John Locke (philosopher) have rightly stated that religious and civil liberty in America is the trophy of the early Baptists. Baptists petitioned the government for the 1st Amendment, and won it. As 21st century Baptists, we certainly affirm the religious liberty of Americans to worship according to the dictates of their consciences.

However, we also believe that we have the same civil liberty to oppose error as we see it. And it is indeed a great error to associate with Mormons in a way that implies they are true, Christian believers, and permit Catholic priests like Jonathan Morris, etc., and Jewish rabbis, and such like, to speak from the pulpit of a professing Christian, evangelical church. We should love all men, and support their civil liberties. But this church is endorsing such men as "believers" involved in the work of "the kingdom of God." Yet, Mormons believe that Jesus and Lucifer are brothers, and that God was once a man (like Adam), and that Mormons will one day be "Gods" with their own planets. Catholics believe in such heresies as the worship of images, salvation through the continual sacrifice of the mass, etc. As to religious liberty, the Catholic Popes (known for centuries of bloody persecution of Christians) have continually and openly denied religious liberty!

For example, Pope Pius VI, (Brief Quod aliquantum) scorned religious liberty as a, "monstrous right." He stated: "...what could be more unwise than to establish among men this equality..."

Pope Gregory XVI called religious liberty, "absurd..nonsense":

"And from this stinking fountainhead of indifferentism flows that absurd and erroneous opinion or rather nonsense, that liberty of conscience must be claimed and demanded for anyone whatever..."
(Pope Gregory XVI, Encyclical, August 15, 1832)

Pope Leo XIII stated that the Catholic Church only permits liberty as long as it has to - until "happier times" arise in a nation, when it once again has the power to deny it!:

"...while not conceding any right to anything save what is true...the [Catholic] Church usually acquiesces in certain modern liberties, not because she prefers them in themselves, but because she judges it expedient..."
(Pope Leo XIII, Encyclical, June 20, 1888)

No wonder John Adams (the second U.S. President) warned:

"Can a free government possibly exist with the Roman Catholic religion?"
(Letter to Thomas Jefferson, May 19, 1821)

Likewise, Samuel F.B. Morse (inventor of the telegraph), documented the open plan of the Catholic Church to use immigration in America to one day have enough Catholics in government, and voting as citizens, to overthrow the Constitution, and specifically the Bill of Rights (see Morse's, "Foreign Conspiracy Against the Liberties of the United States," 1835). None of this history is hidden. The quotes of Popes, etc. are plain to anyone willing to read. We believe it is possible to love Catholics as people, while opposing and exposing their views.

The Bible warns Christians against being "unequally yoked" with unbelievers and false teachers (2 Corinthians 6). When professing Christians yoke with Mormons and Catholics and unbelieving Jews (not to mention "Name it and Claim it" televangelists, such as Kenneth Copeland), it only furthers our national judgment.

Jonah, in his rebellion against God, brought a storm upon the poor pagans who were with him in the ship. In the same manner, when evangelical Christians rebel against the plain commandments of the Bible in regard to moral and doctrinal separation, they will help continue the judgment of God upon this land. We can support the religious liberty, and applaud the basic morality of any American who opposes humanism. But it is plainly wrong to imply that the "Jesus" of Mormonism (as well as of Catholicism and Judaism) is the same God and Christ of Biblical Christianity! It is plainly wrong to imply that the differences in these religions are only minor; and to pray together, and yoke together with cults for pragmatic purposes. This church is promoting this event - not as a secular event - not as a political event - but as a time of repentance, and prayer, and spiritual awakening! Shame on the Christians who are participating that should know better. This ecumenical confusion is not the repentance that God ordains.

Unbelievers, and those outside the gates of evangelical Christian religion, should not be permitted to speak from the pulpits of professing, evangelical Christian churches. This is plainly a part of the "falling away" that Paul warned would come in the latter times (2 Thess. 2:3), when men would "not endure sound doctrine" (2 Tim. 4:3).

In a generation that is quick to call these views bigoted and hateful, we are not ashamed to stand up for the truth of the Bible, and maintain the distinctions of our Christian religion. We consider it our right, and our duty.

Sincerely,

Pastor Joey Faust
