Incidentally, I will mention this for the benefit of any preachers and bible students who may be interested. The Met Tab have an online seminary which is open to overseas students. They are inviting interested people to register for the 4 year course. The study program for those who are seeking a diploma is that you receive set reading for the month and then have to complete assignments and submit online for marking. The online study plan also includes recorded videos on the topics for the month. The fee is extremely modest, and all office bearers would benefit enormously by attending the course.

I believe one can register to be an auditor only. There is no fee for this.

Mind you, any admonishment ought really to be done tenderly, with compassion and the grace of God, earnestly desiring the spiritual good of the other, rather than Bible-bashing him over the head, hoping for a knockout.

Firstly, thanks for a good question. Secondly, I would hope that you realise the fallacy of equating the errors of Rome with Eschatological errors. The latter will not jeopardise anyone's soul.

But coming directly to your question, we all have a duty to admonish each other. (Romans 15:14; Col 3:16 etc)

Vine in his dictionary differentiates between teaching and admonishing as follows:

"The difference between 'admonish' and 'teach' seems to be that, whereas the former has mainly in view the things that are wrong and call for warning, the latter has to do chiefly with the impartation of positive truth, cp. Col. 3:16; they were to let the Word of Christ dwell richly in them, so that they might be able (1) to teach and 'admonish' one another, and (2) to abound in the praises of God."

The ministry in the Churches is given to impart positive truth, but we all then have a duty to keep each other in line with that truth.

In the case of Roman Catholicism we have a 2 fold failure viz. that preachers these days do not teach about its fatal errors, and secondly a failure to admonish people who go soft on the issues.

Even though it is an error that is in an Evangelical Church, yet we must destroy it. I love all those who love the Lord Jesus Christ, but, nevertheless, I cannot have any truce or any treaty with the numerous errors that have crept into the church, nor would I have you regard them with complacency. We are one in Christ; let us be friends with one another; but let us never be friends with one another’s error. If I am wrong, sternly rebuke me; I can handle it, and handle it cheerfully, and if you are wrong, expect me to do likewise, showing no peace with your errors in doctrine. Let us all be true to one another, and true to Christ; and as soon as we perceive an error, though it is only the shadow of one, let us root it out and drive it from us, lest it plague the whole body, and allow the entire fabric of the church to be affected with leprosy. This type of evangelistic preaching is all but unknown in the vast majority of Reformed churches where concern for the lost is conspicuous by its absence; and then they wonder that the Lord is not blessing! What sad days we live in when the Lord's people have no heart for the lost. How is that representing the Lord worthily?

The substance of these addresses are in written form too for anyone interested. Dr Masters book is entitled "Physician of Souls", a title written many years ago now.
