Buckeyes wrote: (TMC) This guy invested a ton of money and risked his life to only reach 5% of the total altitude needed to see the curvature of the earth! If the world is flat and all the continents radiate out from the North Pole, then the conventionally displayed distances between continents would actually be shorter above the equator and longer below. This guy could simply have bought a stopwatch and booked flights from Tokyo, Japan to Washington D.C. (6,737 miles/ avg. 12 hrs. 37 min.) and from Melborne, Australia to Santiago, Chile (7,016 miles/ avg. 13 hrs. 15 min.). All four of those cities are within 39-33 degrees latitude north and south of the equator. The fact that the Melborne- Santiago flight isn’t vastly longer than the Tokyo-New York flight IMO conclusively proves the flat earth idea to be wrong. Wormholes. |

"Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?" (1 Corinthians 5:6)Does leaven infect part of the lump or the whole? Does sin affect only part of a man, or is it systemic? "Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one." (Job 14:4) Were Adam and Eve unclean after they fell? Were they completely unclean or were they only partially unclean? Can they bring forth something clean? "Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee." (Genesis 3:16) Did the fall affect human reproduction? Was the curse upon childbearing merely physical difficulty? Or could it be that every child comes into the world with a heart that despises God and devises wickedness? What is the real sorrow in childbearing? Are these questions germane? |

John UK wrote: Blessings to you also, brother. Your text reminded me of this one: (Mat 21:40) When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen? The enemies of Christ will have a day of reckoning. "...a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries." (Hebrews 10:27)But that's not the amazing part, is it? The amazing part is that Jesus has already suffered that for you and I who deserved the same judgement. "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." (1 John 4:10) |

John UK wrote: It makes me wonder if the Father was getting weary of seeing this ungodly mob watching his Son slowly die. So he made it difficult for them to see anything. Blessings, dear brother! You may indeed be right. To be sure, He will avenge His beloved Son. "He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure." (Psalm 2:4,5) |

Christopher000 wrote: Problem is that a lot of kids and young adults don't have the experience to drive in proactive, and defensive ways, and just want to go fast. Giving these inexperienced drivers a golden ticket to drive, pushing 90mph, given the +10 overage most cops allow before writing a ticket, can't possibly end well. Sounds about as smart to me as legalizing recreational pot use, and now the accidents and deaths resulting in these states reflect that decision. Revenue, revenue, revenue. Just yesterday, I was on a service road and already driving over the speed limit, probably by +10. This SUV flew up on me out of nowhere, almost kissing my bumper and keeping it there. I was in no mood, so pinned the SUV on this narrow road, and got out of my truck. Turned out to be a girl in her early 20's. I could tell she was terrified, and I immediately felt bad, so just told her to keep her distance. Maybe not the thing to do, but she was putting us both in danger, and who knows, maybe it'll stick with her and save her life. She wouldn't have been so scared if you hadn't been brandishing that jar of Vegermite. |
