Boy, you could take Obama's name out of that title and add just about anyone else and it would still work.

ACLU wrote: "That way we can be sure that the name of God will never be heard in the public arena."

It's not the President's responsibility to spread the gospel, it's ours!!! He is President to ALL people regardless of faith.

I for one would never vote for a theocracy. There is nothing more dangerous than a "religious" man with power!!!

Actually you drove by my house if you were on I-75. We are about 25 minutes north of Bourbon county. I really love living here. I was born and raised here actually. Left for a 6 year stint in the U.S. Army and came right back. I'm glad you had a good time. We are pretty rural down here but it's a good place to live and have kids. I have friends in Bourbon County, were you can't buy alcohol incidentally.

Hey Mike in New York, I would never call you a liar, I was just disagreeing with you on that one point bro. I usually agree with about 95% of your post. I also respect your opinions!

Street-Preacher:
Eph 4:31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
Eph 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Ask yourself Street-Preacher, are you a stepping stone for the Kingdom, or a stumbling block!!!

1Ti 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

No matter how you slice it mike, God warns against the love of money. Jesus had lots to say about it. It is also the motivation behind printing all these different bible versions.

While I agree with all the previous comments, I gotta admit I'd love to see the finished boat. To see something the general size and shape of a gigantic ark made by our ancestor would be absolutely breathtaking.
This ark is being built about 5 minutes from my house. We are very excited to see it. They have situated so you will be able to see the ark driving north or south on I-75.

Jim, I understand your thoughts and appreciate it. I don't know the times I have sit through a sermon in church and the preacher trying to convince us the Bible is true and real. To me it's the epitome of 'preaching to the choir.' I still don't really care. I'm glad the ark is being built...

I didn't hear Perry say anything that should be offensive to a Christian. But he did say things that would be offensive to unbelievers. Maybe he should have been more understanding of their feelings, and not said anything, instead speaking in pablum generalities like most politicians do.
I'm sure he said a proper prayer Mike. It's just the venue. You are praying to men (voters) and not God! I'm sure God didn't even hear him! "He has his reward".

(Mat 6:5) And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

(Mat 6:6) But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

(Mat 6:7) But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

(Mat 6:8) Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

These are our Lord's words and not ours. I agree with you Jim. I think we may have seen our last Republican President from Texas for a while!!!
If anything, it's events like these that actually hurt Christianity.

I just got back from visiting 2 of my sons who are serving in the U.S. Army in Maryland. I'm proud of my service to this country and theirs. My father and his entire family of men served in WWII. Having said that I do not know how anyone, especially the churches in this country, could have supported the invasion of Iraq an such a heavy cost to this country. If we had concentrated on the perps of 911 in Afghanistan as we should have then withdrawn it would have been much less costly in lives and money. Major Payne you are right sir. the military wasn't to blame. It was the bushnicks in America's churches that are to blame. I have never in my life seen so many "religious" people excited for a military intervention. We fill our churches today with entirely the wrong subjects. Perhaps that's to blame for the moral decline. Perhaps the churches as a whole should turn back to Jesus and the great commission. and spend less time worrying about who to support in the next election. Just a thought!!!

The big money "give away" has been going on longer than just 3 years...

Both sides like to send our money back home to their respective districts. Cost cutting is a good thing as long as it don't involve me!!! Christians do not have any friends in Washington DC.

Good comment Garrett, however, considering there where "christians" in america calling for prayer of President Obama's death a few years back, and supported by several readers on SA, I'd say it is rather mild.

From the article: A senior bishop has urged churches to slash the length of services to encourage people to worship more.

If they slashed the length of time that people worship, wouldn't they worship less? I guess I'm confused!

Well received Mount and thank you for not yelling!!! I agree with the condition of the moral decay in America. There is no doubt. However, I'm not sure this is a political problem. I feel for a few generations now the church in America has failed it's citizens. Don't get me wrong here, please, I'm not against the church I am for the church. I feel the church has lost it's way. That is why a lot of this is happening. Our failure to reach the masses. You can vote how you want. It won't change anything!!!

TLC said... Or THE "DEMOCRATIC" N-W-O SODOMIZERS Ala ANTHONY WEINER, RAHM EMANUEL & BARACK OBAMA TOO [Who Desperately Wants Term TWO (2)] ?

I believe I have heard a few republicans talking about the New World Order as well TLC. Everyone has to make up their own mind about the lesser of two evils. I think that is what we have boiled this down to. I am personally at a point that I feel churches in America have gotten too involved into politics and gotten away from their core mission which is the Great Commission to spread the gospel. That is my opinion!!!

the Republican National Committee -- which is the central arm of the Republican Party -- has named the homosexual group's executive director to the RNC's Finance Committee.

Cooper says he will be working to elect what he calls "pro-equality Republicans."

Anything to gain back control and get back into power!!!

I agree Rufus, public education has lot's of problems! But, if the parents of these kids that are unable to read were no more interested in them then, how would homeschooling have helped? Or any other alternative for that matter. When I read an article like this, I always wonder why the parents weren't more involved.

Jim Lincoln wrote "The U.S. has lost both wars in Iraq and Afghanistan"

I'm not sure what you mean about the Bill of Rights Jim but I feel both wars are a loss. We never have had a post-war plan for either country. The ironic part of all of this is that Christians in Iraq were safer under Saddam Hussein than they are with the country we left them. The terrible cost in lives and money to wage these wars will take it's toll for years to come.
