Many of our problems would be solved if we just had a little talk with Jesus. Brenda Lee wrote the lyrics to the famous song, “Have a Little Talk with Jesus.” The following verses, along with the chorus, speak to us when we’re going through intense pain:

Sometimes my path grows drear without a ray of cheer,
And then a cloud of doubt may hide the day;
The mists of sin may rise and hide the starry skies,
But just a little talk with Jesus clears the way.

I may have doubts and fears; my eyes be filled with tears,
But Jesus is a Friend who watches day and night.
I go to him in prayer; He knows my every care,
And just a little talk with my Jesus makes it right.

Have a little talk with Jesus; tell him all about our troubles,
Hear our faintest cry, answer by and by.

Find a little talk with Jesus makes it right.

How does talking with Jesus make a difference? It’s simple: When we give Him our problems, He gives us His peace. When our hearts are broken, and the tears are flowing freely, we can come to Him. We may not even know how to express the sorrow and anguish we feel, but He can hear our hearts. He sees every tear. He knows the details of every situation. Knowing He is there for us is what makes the difference.

Are there some problems you need to give to Jesus? An issue at work may be troubling you. You might be dealing with a crisis in your marriage. You are having a hard time concentrating on your schoolwork. Your parents are going through a divorce. Some members left your church without giving a reason. When you can’t hold back the tears, have a little talk with Jesus about these things. He will make it right.
