EXTRAORDINARY THINGS

Little is much when God is in it. An acorn may seem so very small to us, and yet God can take just one and grow an oak tree to shade a good sized yard. One little match can start a fire that would keep a hundred from freezing, or on the other hand, destroy a great forest. For good or bad, some so-called little people have done some great big things.

Sometimes God uses some small things for mountain moving tasks on earth. First Corinthians 1:26-29, “For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things that are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence?”

God stood out on the edge of nowhere and created people to do big things. After all, God made Adam from the dust of the earth and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. Just a clod or dirt I am and I must give Him the glory for anything that I ever accomplished. Would you join me in saying “To God be the Glory?”

But our Creator uses little ordinary people like you and me to get the gospel out to a lost and dying world. God used an ordinary young man called David to be a king. Gideon was a coward at first but God helped him to win great battles. Peter, James, John, and Andrew were very plain ordinary fishermen but were used by God to be great fishers of men.
