Very Informative Message In this biographical message on the life of James P. Boyce, several interesting facts are shared such as his conversion, the impact Baptist leaders such as Francis Wayland and Richard Fuller had on him, the founding of Southern Seminary and Boyce's theological views. In addition, Justice relates lessons one can learn from the life of Boyce. For example, although Boyce learned many things from Presbyterians such as Charles Hodge, he did not accept their views on baptism or church polity. |

Powerful Sermon! The late James Beller was an outstanding Baptist historian. In this message, he explains how famous Protestant evangelists such as D.L. Moody, Sam Jones, Billy Sunday and J. Wilbur Chapman, while greatly used of God, did not fulfill the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20). Although they saw many people saved, their converts were not scripturally baptized, nor did they join New Testament churches. On the other hand, American Baptist evangelists such as Shubal Stezrns, Daniel Marshall, J.S. Coleman, W.E. Penn and "Cyclone Mack" McLendon did fulfill the Great Commission as their converts were immersed and joined Baptist churches. This is a much-needed message that anyone interested in Baptist history will enjoy! |

A Very Helpful Sermon In this much needed message, Nathan Deatrick shares some amazing stories about such forgotten Baptist giants as Jeremiah Vardeman, Lewis Craig, Samuel Harris, and Shubal Stearns. In addition, he relates how all of these men were connected with each other. Anyone interested in Baptist history needs to listen to this message. |

Great Sermon! Nettles needs to read the Th.D. thesis "A Study of the Antecedents of Landmarkism," by Leroy b. Hogue. It can be found here:
http://baptisthistoryhomepage.com/landmark.antec.hogue.tenn.html
and here:

Graves was not the first to teach or hold to Landmarkism. Hogue shows there were many Baptist pastors, churches, and association who held to these beliefs long before the Cotton Grove Resolutions. Many other historical examples that Hogue does not include can also be given to prove this fact. |
