Christmas with a Word. This Christmas series is about just one
word in the bible and its according to which translation you use to see the Spelling. The King James Version of the Bible uses the spelling Emmanuel. The English Standard Version and others (e.g., NASB, NLT, NKJV, HCSB, NIV) use the spelling Immanuel. This title tells us how He would save us from our sins. The God of the universe, the Word who spoke creation into existence, became one of us so that He could deliver us from our sins. Our salvation is tied to His presence. The Hebrew name “Emmanuel” literally means “God is with us”. Elohim occurs over 2,500 times in the Tanakh and the basic meaning behind the name Elohim is one of strength. Elohim is the infinite, all-powerful God that uses His works to show that He is the creator, sustainer, and supreme judge of the world. The word is found three times in the Bible: Isaiah 7:14,8:8,10,Matt.1:23
