She's never coming out!!

I know, I know. She has to come out eventually, right?? We worked so hard on getting my body to keep her in. Now my body seems to want to keep her in for good. We went to the doctor yesterday. Needless to say, she was even more shocked to see me than last time...seeing as how I was dilated to 4cm 2 weeks ago. I am now at 5cm. There are those who think that you cannot be at 5cm without being in active labor...but then, what has been normal about my uteruses?? I am still having contractions and they get up to 7 minutes apart, then disappear. I have an appointment with my doctor next Tuesday. If the baby isn't out by then, then we will set a date for induction. My doctor wants to give the baby every chance to come out on her own.

It is definitely getting harder to function normally. Some days I can hardly get out of bed. The pain gets to be too much to bear...mainly in the evenings and mornings. The baby is still moving well. I am still eating well (>55 pounds gained). I don't really want to gain more weight, but I keep thinking the baby is coming out any day, so I eat what and when I feel like eating. Gene has also been more lenient with my diet. I have outgrown most of my maternity clothes, which doesn't make me feel good. It's all temporary, right?? I have never had any self-control when it comes to my diet, and I am not one of those people who get an endorphin rush from exercising. I won't even consider trying to shed the weight until several months out. Even thinking about how that would even fit into my routine hurts my head. :)

I hope to have good news to report soon. It's hard to know what to do in this waiting period. Everything for the baby is ready, so we are running local errands. We are eagerly awaiting her arrival!!

Updates on prayer requests..

My friend on bedrest is doing okay. She is still in the period of the unknown. So far the baby is staying put. My friend is trying to find ways to keep herself busy to keep her mind off of what could happen.

Jacob, the 11 year old with cancer, is currently going through a week of chemotherapy. There has been some good news. All of the imaging studies done so far indicate that the cancer is isolated in the nasopharynx area!!!...meaning the cure rate is high. He will need to continue to receive cycles of chemotherapy for several more months. So far he is tolerating the treatments fairly well. He has had some nausea and is expected to lose his hair...good thing he has a cute head. Continue to pray for Jacob and his family. The family is keeping updates at the following web address for those who are interested. http://www.tostepharmd.net/jacob/
