If you'd like to turn with us, we'll be in Luke chapter 15. Going to be back at Silver City. He texted me last Sunday, asked if I'd come, and I have had this on my mind, or somehow presented to me during the day for a whole week. So we're just going to try to follow the Lord this morning. I'd really, really appreciate your prayers. I know this is a very familiar scripture, and we're just going to try to do what the Lord has us to do. We're going to start in verse 11, and I'm going to do a little bit of reading. Y'all bear with me, I'm going to stutter and say a lot of words wrong probably, but I'll start in verse 11. It says, And he said, A certain man had two sons, and the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided He divided unto them his living. And not many days after, the younger son gathered all together and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with righteous living. And when he had spent all there, arose a mighty famine in that land, and he began to be in want. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed swine. And he would have fain have filled his belly with the husk that the swine did eat, and no man gave unto him. And when he came to himself and said, How many hired servants of my fathers have bread enough and to spare? And I perished with hunger. I will rise and go to my father, and I will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee. And I am no more worthy to be called thy son, make me as one of thy higher servants. And he arose and came to his father, but when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. And his son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and in thy sight, and I am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, bring forth the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet, and bring hither the fattened calf, and kill it, and let us eat, and be merry. For this my son was dead, and is alive again. He was lost. He was lost and he was found and they began to be married. I'll read and we'll go back to the beginning of this right here and it says that the father had divided his living up between the two sons and the younger one had gotten up and had burned a hole in his pocket. I guess that's what my dad used to say my money would do. He had burned a hole in his pocket and he went to another city and he just spent it all away. He wasted every bit of it, and I began to think, you know, he wasted it all, and the mighty famine came, and he began to be in want. And today, I feel like there's a lost soul or somebody here today that's been out in sin way too long. They've had so much fun, you know, but the sin is fun, you know, that's what Chris always used to say, create the sins fun for a season. Maybe you've had all the fun you can have today, friend, and maybe Maybe you're in want today. I feel like you're in a famine in your life today. That something's missing. You finally got it. It's all caught up with you. Maybe you realize that something's missing in your life. That you're in a famine. That you need something else in your life that you haven't got. And it says that he began to be in want. And he said that he was out feeding the pigs one day or the swine. And he said he came to himself and he said that He said that, you know, my father's servants have enough bread that I can eat. I'm going to go there and tell them, you know, that I'm not worthy, I have sinned, I'm not worthy to be your son anymore, but I just want to be one of your servants. And maybe today you've come to church, maybe you're thinking you're going to come to church, you know, just come and just hear the preacher and hear the singer. That's going to be enough for you. You'll be able to go back out and evict your life. But I'm going to tell you today, also, that's not enough today. You've got to have Jesus. You've got to have the blood. You've got to come down. You've got to get saved today. You can keep going through life all you want to. You can keep coming, just listen to the preacher talk. and listen to the singing, walking right back out, but nothing's ever going to change. You're still going to be in want. You're still going to be in a famine. You're alive. You're still going to go hungry. And it says, if you keep reading now, it says that he goes, and he says, this is my favorite part, so it stuck out to me. And it says in verse 20, it says, he arose and he came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion and ran. and fell on his neck and kissed him. You know, that's what I love most about that right there. It says he was a great way off. You're a great way off from God today, Law. So you're as far as you've ever been. You're as far as you've ever been from Him. And today you need somebody. I'll tell you, if you'd come down just like when he saw his dad, his dad ran to him in that compassion, ran and kissed his neck, and he gave him the best he had. He even told him, he said, look, I've sinned. I wasted all the money I've done. I've not done the things I should have, but he thought he was just going to come out to be a servant, but see his dad right here? He gave him the best he had. He came back and he said, my son is back. You know, he gave him the best he had. He didn't just make him another servant. You know, he gave him the absolute best he had. I promise you today, you feel like you're so far away. You feel like you're so far away from God. You feel like you don't even deserve to come up here and pray. You feel like you don't even deserve to talk to God. But I promise you, no matter how far away you are, just like he was a great way off, you can be as far away as you can possibly ever get. God's going to love you. He's going to give you the best. He's absolutely God. If you just calm down, just accept He just wants to save your soul today. He just wants to save your soul and fix your life because it says, because my Bible says that He is the bread of life, that you'll never go hungry. You won't have to be in a famine no more. You'll have everything you ever wanted ever in your life because you're going to be going where I'm going one day. Where I'm going one day is a place called heaven because of December 7, 2008. He let me know that. I was hungry, and I needed something in my life that was missing, because I promise you, after three years of running, or two years of running, I was as far away as I could possibly get. Just because I was a gray wolf doesn't mean he didn't want to listen to me. Didn't mean he didn't want to hear me. He still heard my prayer. And I came down, and I got saved. That's what I was telling Chris earlier. You know, I went down, and I got saved. All I knew that Sunday was I had to get something that I didn't have. I didn't have him inside me, and I got him. I didn't know at that point what was going to happen when I lifted my head and said I was saved. I didn't know. I didn't know where he was going to take me. I didn't know what was going to happen, but you know, I just fell into his arms today. I fell into his arms that day, and I promise you, you'll just fall into his arms today, and you'll just listen to him. Listen to that voice telling you inside of you, come. Come, come, come to me. I'm listening to you. I promise you he's listening to your prayers. We've got one more place we're going to read. It ain't got a term, but it's going to be Ephesians chapter number 2, and it says, in verse 13, it says, But now, in Jesus Christ, ye who sometimes were afar off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath both won and hath broken down the middle wall of petition between us." You know, there's a song that says, It says that he left all of heaven just to come down and die for your sins. You know, you really start thinking about that. Jesus left the most amazing place that's ever been created, heaven, because he had one job to do. And that one job was to come and to die on a cross for me. As nowhere can a thorn be beaten and stoned. But he knew, the whole time he knew who I was. I know for a fact he knew that Brandon Dyer was going to be him. He's going to need somebody to talk to. He's going to need somebody to cry to every night. His blood runs through my veins today, and I want it to run through your veins today. If you just listen, don't quit listening to the devil. It's telling you just to hold on. If you'll just let go today. If you'll just let go. I promise you he sees you. I promise you he knows where you are. We was doing some ball field lots in Dawson County, and I was about 90 foot up in the lift, you know, looking, well, he's at the very top, and I was looking down, and you could see people that looked like little ants, you know, just running around, or just walking around, you know, and I began to think, you know, maybe, hey, that's us, he sees us, you know. But, you know, the funny thing is about that, You know, they can go so far. I'm only so high. They can go so far to where I can't see them no more. The great thing about it is no matter how far you go away, no matter how far you start, you feel like you're away from God. You might be just a little bitty hand out there, but He can still see you. He can still see you because He sees everything. He knows everything. He knows what you're thinking right now. He knows in your mind you're trying to talk yourself out of coming down today. But I promise you, if you just listen to Him and listen to me, I'm telling you, I promise you, I wouldn't be here. I wouldn't be up here preaching. I wouldn't be here screaming and crying if I didn't believe in this, if I didn't know this was a sure thing in my life, because I promise you, you can talk to yourself, you can tell yourself it's not real all you want to, it's just in your head, I promise you that it's real. Because if it wasn't real, I wouldn't be here, I wouldn't be where I'm at today, I wouldn't call a place called heaven my home. And I want you to call heaven your home today too, but there's only one way you can get into heaven is after you're saved. There's no other way. There's absolutely no other way. If we'd go with a song, a song of invitation. Lost already wants you to think about today. You might not even be lost. You might just be away from God today. You just want to come back home. I don't know the hearts. I just know what God's telling me to come and to say. And I just want y'all to know that there's somebody that loves you. There's somebody that cares about you, that wants to hear your prayers, that wants to see you cry to him. He just wants you happy. That's why he just wants you today. If he'd stand, stand and sing,
Prodigal Son
Come home to the Lord! He is waiting on you!
