God's Word. Yeah. I was going to sing again because I opened the hymnal instead of the Bible. All right. Okay. Proverbs chapter 13. Go to Proverbs chapter 13. He loves the book of Proverbs. I love the book of Proverbs. That's practical Christianity right there. You want to expose the world? Go to Proverbs. Let's look here. We continue to transforming truths series and I'm dealing with, I think I'm gonna do this until the end of July, this transforming truths before we change to another thing. But look at Proverbs chapter 13 verse one. It says, a wise son hear it or hears his father's instruction. But look what it says, but a scorner hear it not rebuke. A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth, but the soul of the transgression shall eat violence. He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life, but he that open wide his lips shall have destruction. The soul of the slugger or the lazy desired and had nothing. Lazy people like many things would have nothing because they don't want to work. But the soul of the diligent shall be made fat. A righteous man hated lying, but a wicked man is lonesome and common to shame. Shall we pray heavily? Father, thank you, Lord, for this passage of Scripture. Oh, Lord, that describes the heart of a lot of people in our world today. But help us as Christians, as your children. Help us, Lord, to be diligent, living by faith, each day trusting you, the King of kings and the Lord of lords. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen. You may be seated. So today I'm going to, the Lord laid this one in my heart, walking in wisdom. Wisdom, the Bible says, if you read the book, actually, the book of Proverbs, if you read the book of Proverbs, it's saying that God says, my wisdom is walking on the streets looking for those who hear. And fools don't hear. God's wisdom continues to walk down the streets. and looking for someone to hear the voice of God. But it will come a day, God says, that I will laugh at you calamities or your problems because you refuse to hear my wisdom. Oh folks, it's not a condition of our world. Many people don't want God, don't want church, don't want Bible, don't want to hear anything and scorn those who go to the house of God and make fun of those. He's saying that we are old-fashioned close-minded people, but when calamity comes their ways The Bible says God laughs at them Then I told you that my wisdom is for you good, but you don't listen Walking in wisdom in this age folks There's a lot on wise people that we are listening to So it was my plea you want to walk in wisdom listen you want to walk in wisdom A lot of people on YouTube you should not listen to. A lot of people on Facebook you should not even have them as your friends. A lot of people in our world today that we should not listen to. You know why? Because they have their own pockets as they benefit. They're giving to you what you want to hear. They're not walking in wisdom because their own lifestyle they don't follow after God. If I'm going to follow somebody, I'm going to follow somebody that loves Jesus and loves the Lord. There's a lot of unwise people who they are going to the grave and they refuse to accept Jesus as their Savior. Will we listen to them? Walking in wisdom is this, is grabbing the Word of God and following the roadmap for our lives. That's what it is. So I'm gonna give you a couple thoughts this morning about how should I walk in wisdom in this day and age. The last days on which we are living, things are getting worse and worse, folks. We are living in the last days. When this church age comes to an end, all men's records will go away and God's gonna step on the scene right here. And according to the Bible, things are not going to get any better. They're going to get worse and worse. Respect for people, especially those who are in places of authority and respect for ones of age, is an all-time low. The shameless minds of society is just amazing to see. Sin is practiced on our streets with no shame at all. And I want you to agree with them about the shameless, disrespectful, ungodly way in which they live. Ungodly living is everywhere in our streets. The lack of care and zeal for God, His house and His word is becoming a thing of the past. Disrespect to parents is an all-time high. Disrespect to authorities, laziness, want people to feed them when they don't want to work, is tremendously around us. There are tremendous and sometimes terrifying days in which we live, folks, but the signs of time should not take us by surprise, especially when we know what the Bible says. Luke 2 Timothy 3 verse 1 says, This know also that in the last days, perilous time shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boastless, proud, blasphemous, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. without natural affection, trust-breakers, false accusers, countenance, fierce, despised of those that are good, traitors, heavy-minded, lovers of pleasures, more than lovers of God. Listen to this, having a form of godliness, but denying of the power thereof. For such, the Bible says, listen to this, for such, the Bible says, turn away. Why am I going to walk side by side with an ungodly person? Why am I going to walk side by side with a person that hates my God, my Savior, my King, my Heavenly Father? Why am I going to allow somebody to dispute words of blasphemy against my God, my Heavenly Father? Think about it, your own earthly father. Would you walk with a person that cursed your father? You would stand up and say, hey, that's my father. Well, Jehovah is my God, he's my heavenly father. Don't you dare trash his name. Okay. So as we read these verses, we can see our society is in it. There are verses that describe the condition of our society. Maybe the whole entire world without exaggeration. We are living in perilous times. We are living in ungodly times. But we cannot learn of the Lawrence of the past, neither of the unrighteous of the present. Someone said these words, hats off to the past, coats off to the future. We are living in a weird age on contrast and paradox. You ever heard of Paul Harvey? Paul Harvey said, how come so many millions of Americans get a Sunday morning shower and don't come clean? There are more gadgets for peace and safety than ever before, but more violence and slaughter, both in war and even in our own highways, in our city streets, in our backyards, in our neighborhoods. Religious leaders who talk about running the church and national leaders who talk about running the nation cannot even control their own private lives, but they want to try to tell you how to live. And who could ever unravel that tangle lines in our governmental affairs. Someone says this, is that if he ever was unfortunate enough to go insane, he hoped he would live in Washington where he could not be noticed. Washington, DC. Not the place, but the politics that we have. Now, we can't be responsible for the whole nation, neither for the sins of others. We can't send missionaries to the whole world, can we? We can't take the whole country to repent, but we can make sure we do ask God to forgive us. Never have churches of modern Christians had the opportunity we have today. What advantage we have over the early church that shook the Roman Empire. Today we have automobiles to ride. to make our visits, print press, to print tons of Christian literature. We have Bibles in almost every corner. We have television, radio, internet to proclaim the gospel. But we forgot who we are and who he is. And many times we use social media for our own selfish reasons. We have our institution of higher learning, luxury buildings, famous music programs and millions of lost people to reach for Christ. What a challenge. The future is bright as God promised to us. Now, with all this going on in our world, with all this going on that I tried to describe in a few words, all this going on, can I, can you live in wisdom in this ungodly world? Listen folks, wickedness and evil has been around since the beginning of time. You were born for such a time as this. This is your time and my time. I cannot go and try to excuse the people of the past and their mistakes and their sins. I was not there. But I can make a difference in my world today by my own personal walk with my God. How can I do that? Let me give you some works of wisdom First of all, let me quote the Bible verse that probably will enrich your heart this morning. Matthew 10, verse 16 says, Behold, stand up, hold up, listen to me. I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves. But be ye, or be you, therefore wise as serpents and harmless as doves. God wants us to walk with wisdom in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation. How can I walk in wisdom in this world today as a Christian? Number one, listen and learn. Look at Proverbs chapter 13 verse 1. A wise son heareth his father's instruction, but is going to hear it not rebuke. Listen, a wise person, like I said in the beginning, God's wisdom is walking in the streets, is the Bible. That's God's wisdom right here. He said the Bible is an old book. Thank you Lord for the old things. they never get old. When I walk in wisdom read the word of God and you are it's going to transform your life but I don't understand keep reading keep reading keep studying keep memorizing you know what we need the wisdom of God because one day you know what our calamities God will laugh at us and say I told you so you didn't read my word also but God's a loving God yes he is but he's a God of justice as well we look at the love we don't look at the justice my father loved me and when I was wrong he corrected me did he hated me no he loved me so is my heavenly father so listen and learn God gave us two ears one mouth you know why he gave us two ears not to go this way and go out the other way is to listen listen to the word of God folks let me put it this way Why in the world I'm going to listen to somebody that is doing drugs and before you know I'm doing the same drugs he's doing. Walk away. But he's my friend, he's not your friend. He's your worst nightmare. He's going to destroy your life. Listen and learn. The Bible says that it is wise for each of one of God's children to hear the Father's instruction because Father knows best. My earthly father is gone to heaven, but I got a father is called Jehovah God. We got to listen to his word. Now the Bible is the word of God, the living God, but for the Christian is even more than that. The Bible for the Christian is the word of our heavenly father, of our King, of our Savior, of our Redeemer. The Bible says a wise son, hear it. Listen, a wise people listen. Let me put it this way. I run my own business, I run my father's business. I was a manager in a job. You know one thing about people when you hire them? You can know, you know immediately when they listen to you or not. You try to teach them so they can become good workers and you can tell when they not listen, guess what? Eventually you have to get rid of them because they don't listen to you. Is that wise not to listen? If they listen, it's good for them. Some people are like sponges, they listen. It's good. Some people do not listen at all. They know it all before you even open your mouth. God says, it is wise, a wise son. Those who are wise, they listen. Oh folks, let me tell you this way. There are many voices in our world. And everyone wants to be heard. Be careful who you listen to. Be careful. They can fill your ears with all kinds of nonsense and believe me, you're very unwise if you listen to them. If you and I are students of the Bible, listen carefully, if you and I are students of the Bible, if you and I strive to do what God says in His Word, when you walk somewhere, when you listen, when you watch a video, When they open their mouth, you know immediately they're not people you want to listen to. I'm talking about from musicians, from rock and roll people, from politics, from all kinds of people. They open their mouth and you say, good night, see you later. You're not building me up. I don't care how famous they are. We have a tendency to follow those who are popular, who have all kinds of money and make no sense. Jesus came and Jesus is not rich. Jesus walked around and with his words he transformed the world even to today. And he can transform your life and my life so listen and learn. Look what it says in Matthew chapter 7 verse 24. Whosoever, means anybody, that heareth these sayings of mine, and do them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which buildeth his house upon a rock. Those who listen, those who listen to the words of truth, who are building their lives, their very lives, their very foundation, lives on a solid rock, not on sand. Why a solid rock? Because if you build on a solid rock, it ain't gonna move. Matthew 13 verse 23 says, but he that receiveth seed into the good ground, is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it, which also heareth fruit, and bringeth fruit, and some a hundredfold, and some sixty, and some thirty. And John chapter 5 verse 24 says, Truly, truly, verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death into life. John chapter 8 verse 47 says, He that is of God, heareth God's words. He therefore hear them not because he are not of God. And Matthew 39 says, I'm sorry, who had ears to hear, let him hear. God says, you need to listen. Number two, second word of wisdom for this world that we live in today, control your mouth. Look at verse 3, either keep it his mouth, keep it his life. A wise person will save himself much grief by keeping and controlling his tongue. Chapter 13 verse 14 says, the law of the wise is a fountain of life. Self-control is a wise thing to do because when we experience self-control, we avoid many headaches in our own personal lives. Self-control helps us to restrain the old man that loves to go wild. Self-control is the ability to exert and often refers to as a willpower. It allows people to direct the attention, despise the presence of competing and even especially in places like the workplace and the school, things like that. But self-control is the ability to manage one's impulse, emotions and behavior to achieve a long-term goals. We must have self-control and God says control your mouth. Some people are professional gossipers. How you stop that? Just give your tongue a good bite. Remind the tongue not to speak. Ah, that hurts. Good. Next time we try to gossip, we remember that big bite. You know, the one that really hurt. Sometimes you don't remember. You're chewing something and you bite your tongue. You go, oh, oh, you can't even speak. Tears come to your eyes. That type of bite I'm talking about. You know, that one like that, like, oh, that hurt. That's how we control our mouth. this tongue of ours can be used to destroy people or can be used to build people God give us a tongue all of us have one right but boy oh boy this tongue is a big troublemaker big time but remember what comes out of this tongue comes from here our minds be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your minds if it's garbage in garbage out but if it's godliness in guess what happened is godliness out oh but they took trash in front of me you can't control what others do but you can control what you say you can right It doesn't matter where you are. If it's in a workplace, if it's at home in the neighborhood, it doesn't matter where you are. But pastor, you know, I'm Italian. I'm sorry. I'm Portuguese. You know, when I get mad and it just comes out, well, it comes up because you're allowed to come out. We like to use as humans, like to use excuses why we cannot control our tongue. Oh boy. Stephen was stoned to death that he controlled his tongue. Yes. Doesn't he? Didn't he? Jesus was on that cross, suffering. Did he control his tongue? Absolutely. Can we control our tongue? Go like this. Yes, you can. And so, but pastor, you know, listen, if people are the cause of you on controlling your tongue, remove yourself. We should not walk by side with ungodly friends. Should we say hi to everybody? Yes. Should we be kind to everybody? Absolutely. But some people don't build this up. Proverbs 13 20 says, he that walketh with wise men shall be wise. But I'm glad the verse doesn't finish there, but says, but the companion of fools shall be destroyed. Controlling discipline must be exercised to our own selves. This selfish life will dominate and ruin us. We need to control our tongues. Control those leisure moments. What do you do when you're off hours, when you watch TV, listen to the radio, surf the internet, and you're reading materials that can be a snare to you? Can you control your TV? Two things you can do. Flip the channel, turn it off. Oh, but I'm going to miss it out. Replace it with something good. Can you control what you watch on the internet? Yes, you can. What you do? Get rid of those sites that shouldn't be there. It's not ungodly. Let me put it this way. If Jesus would sit next to you, And you're flipping those things. Would you do it? Oh, pastor, that is a little... All right. Now think about this. Are you a Christian, right? The Spirit of God is in you. Control your tongue. You see this in the book of James chapter 3. control your time every day God gives us what 24 hours what did you do at the time that God gives you I'll tell you what the new generation do you say pastor nothing wrong with that watch what you're playing may those video games not be something I'm not against video games don't get me wrong but some things we kids play They're not healthy. They're not godly. They're very ungodly. Oh, just entertaining. Yeah, I can watch TV, be entertained to death too. The TV entertains me so to death, I fall asleep many times. You know, I'm watching a movie. I already failed like twice. I put a movie on. It's like, and the movie watches me. I try yesterday again, and boom, I'm gone. But anyway, God gave us 24 hours. every day, to all of us. Do you give God at least one hour of your day to praise Him, to glorify His name? What are you doing with the time, which your time is your business, your prerogative? But boy, oh boy, is that wise if I give God time. And we say, oh pastor, I'm not a kid, I don't play video games. Yeah, all right. Here's another thing for the adults. It's called tick-tock, tick-tock. tick tock it's just entertaining yeah tick tock for the whole day and you are before you know you are addicted to it and your mind goes tick tock tick tock no time for god but time for tick tock walking in wisdom I'm just trying to help you. Walking in wisdom in a very ungodly world. Oh, there's nothing ungodly with that. It is when you put that in the place of God. Okay, so, trust. Third word of wisdom I'm going to give you this morning. Avoid laziness. Look what it says in verse 4. The soul of the slugger. That word slugger means lazy. Desired. I mean, those who are lazy, they want everything in the world. and had nothing but the soul of diligence shall be fat is God describing right here he said those who are lazy they want the whole world but they never get anything because they're too lazy so they cry out it's not fair that you have all this and I got nothing that's today's society it's not fair that I have you have all this you know what maybe if you get a job and work hard maybe you might have it I understand today's society. I understand the economy is really bad today. I understand that. But should never make us not to work. Work is a curse, Pastor. It's not a curse. Before men fell into sin, guess what God gave to mankind? Work. What do you think we're going to do in a new heaven and a new earth? Work. It's not a curse. God loves those people. It's right here in the Bible. It says avoid being lazy. We have a lot of lazy people today in our world, in our society. My dad, oh goodness, he was, you're talking about lazy, he was like, I could that, he was going on. So dad, never leave it alone. But laziness, and the Bible says, the soul of the slug, he desired so many things, but he has nothing because he doesn't work for it. We want somebody else to work for us, we don't wanna put the effort out. Remember those familiar words in Proverbs, chapter six, verse six to eight, when the wise king pointed us tiny ants saying, go to the end, you slug, or go to the end, you lazy. Consider her ways and be wise, which having no guide, no overseer or ruler, provided her meat in the summer and gathered her food in the harvest. How long will thou, O slug, O sleeper, when wilt thou rise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little sleep, a little laziness, a little folding of the hands to sleep, Some people say, oh, I just need 12 hours of sleep. Yeah, and he's going to work for you. Oh, somebody will provide. Lazy people like to rely on those who work to support them. You know a word of wisdom that God gives us? Don't be lazy. You know one thing I don't like is with people that call me lazy. You want to see me get like righteously angered because I'm not a lazy person? It's like, you're lazy. I'm not a lazy person. To me, I rejoice when I see something that I build with the hands that God give me. I look at it, I said, I did it. But I always say, thank you, Lord. Because the ability comes from him, not from me. He gave it to me. I was not born into it. Oh goodness, if I could have a thousand abilities, you see what I could do. But I don't. I have the abilities that God gave me. But let me tell you, I'd love to see what I build. I don't care how many hours it took. I'm like, oh, this is so good. Laziness. You want to walk in wisdom? Get away from laziness. Number four. Walk in wisdom in a very ungodly society. Number four, don't fill your heart with hate. Look what it says in our text, Proverbs 3 verse 5 says, A righteous man hated lying. In verse 6 it says, Righteousness keepeth him that is upright in the way. See, hate is a very strong word and which unfortunately is used many times by people. But as bad as and as strong as this word is, we Christians should never hate. anybody. Lying is one of them. The Christians should despise falsehood and deceit. We don't like to be lied to. We should never lie to anybody else. By the way, when we lie, we are doing the will of the devil, not the will of God. You know why? Because the Bible calls him the father of lies. We are to provide things honest in the sight of God. Romans chapter 12 verse 17. We ought to be honest. You want to walk in wisdom? Be honest, be sincere, be truthful. And you never forget that. But you know why? This is what people do. They lie and when they lie, they forget. And when people approach them, you said that, they put another lie on top of the previous lie. And they keep lying and they become professional liars. And then when we do as Christians, we become to do the will of the devil, not the will of God. We don't want to walk in wisdom in this world. We have to be truthful and tell the truth to people and live in truth, not in lies. Another thing that we should hate is living, have unrighteous living. Unrighteousness and evil is all around us. Shameless people who commit open sin every day all around us. But such should not be sad about us as God's children. Because so and so swears, because so and so curses all day long, because so and so hates people and lives this way and lives that way, doesn't mean we should do the same. Oh, they do it. I guess I can do it. No, no, no. We have a heavenly father who says to me and you, don't do that. Don't live this way. Somebody said to me, I'm talking about the place I work one time. Oh, this is a shipyard. Shipyard people took this way. I look at him. I said, you took this way. I don't talk this way. I said, don't matter where you work. Watch what you're saying. I think lying and hating people should not live in the heart of a Christian. Lying comes from the deeps of hell. Like in the Norse says in Colossians chapter 3 verse 9, it's a quick verse, it says, lie now one to another. Another thing that we should do is righteous living. because others do doesn't mean we have to do. Luke says in Titus chapter 2 verse 11, for the grace of God bring salvation and appear to all men, teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly loss, we should be soberly, righteously and godly in this present world. And Proverbs 3, 6, a righteous keepeth him that is upright in the way. The Christian is to avoid all wickedness, He is to be upright and conscious of other things that he does. Why? He said, why everybody, this is the excuse of the human heart, the human mind. Everybody else is doing. No, they're not. You ever heard them say, everybody else knows. No, they're not. You ever see people come to you and say, what you doing? Everybody knows. Who's everybody? Him and maybe another person. That's a lie. One thing we must hate is our sin. If something is going to transform us, it's to hate our own doing. So that's the fifth word of wisdom. The fourth word of wisdom, the fifth word is have a generous heart. Look what it says in verse 7, he that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing, there is he that maketh himself poor, yet all great riches. Generosity is a great quality of the Christian life. We live in a world today that says to you, me, myself and I, you deserve it. Isn't that what they say? The world that we live in says, you deserve it. go pamper yourself go make yourself feel good go do this they encourage you to do those things even send you to the place of sin just so you can enjoy it now i'm not against doing joyful times but have a generous heart if your brother is destitute if it's in your heart to do it do it in jesus name That's walking wisdom because you know why? I said, Pastor, you might be in destitute today. I mean, the person might be in destitute today and you help them up. Guess what's going to happen tomorrow? If you're destitute, won't you like somebody to help you? Generosity goes a long way. It should be part of us as being Christians. Let me put it this way. What do you think our food pantry is? It's generosity. Because the Bible says to take care of those who are in the household of faith. Right? We're going out of our household of faith and we help the community. We're being a blessing of generosity to them. We do two things. We're being generous and at the same time we're trying to give them the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. But of generosity. You know how many times I've been criticized for having a food pantry open? You say, Pastor, really? I'm telling you. These people are takers. These people only take advantage of you. No, they're not. You know why? Because we can close it at any moment. We can say no more of that. Right? We can say, I'm sorry, go find food somewhere else. But then Jesus said, if you give a cup of water in my name, you do it unto me. If I'm going to walk in wisdom, you know what I'm going to do? I'm gonna follow the word of God, not the opinions of men. Because believe me, there are people, not from this church, don't get it, I'm trying to think from this church, that if we listen to them, we don't have a church any longer. And you listen, you go, all right, I'm gonna listen to the word of God and keep proclaiming the word of God. If we begin to listen to the word of men, we're not wise. Yes, God speaks to his children and sometimes we need to listen to people that talk in a godly way, absolutely. Have a generous heart. And God says, God loves a cheerful giver. He rejoices the heart of God when he sees the generosity of his people. Wow. All right, almost done. Another word of wisdom. Fill your heart with hope. Luke 16 verse 12. Hope, defer it, make the heart sick. But when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. We Christians live in hope. Not I hope so, maybe so. We live in a living hope. If Jesus rose from the dead, if Jesus is alive forevermore, then our hope is alive. Follow that? Then the Word of God is true and every man a liar. You say, oh, how can I apply this book to my life today? You know how you can? Open your ears, listen to the Word of God, stop to listen to ungodly people, listen to the Word of God, stop coming to church more often, read your Bible more often, and stop listening to the ungodly words of this world. And you know what? And the hope will fill your heart and you will have a great desire to serve God. Can I apply this to this world today, pastor? Yes, you can. It's all about your decision. I can't control what you do, but you can. You can. Fill your heart with hope in this so unhopeless world. Listen to me, please. The rich man dies. The famous man dies. The rock star dies. Who else? The politicians die. You will die too. What I'm trying to say here is the word of God lives forever. Who am I to think that people are more intelligent than God? Some people think, some people say a word is like gold. You know, a famous, you know, it blows my mind sometimes. Okay, we're gonna close. What blows my mind sometimes? A person that is as a lot of times and you see this in the famous world that we live in they come out somehow somewhere they become very popular and every word they say is like gold coming to a bucket that we just picking up oh he said this or she said that oh oh I got and the word of God has no value to them at all is that wisdom I don't think so living in wisdom is taking in the bible says in proverbs that god's wisdom is crying through the streets looking for someone who listen to can you imagine god's wisdom is walking through the street the spirit of god is walking through the streets of this world looking for someone to listen to him How to do that? When you give the gospel to someone, what do you think it is? When you give a gospel tract to someone, what do you think it is? When a Bible is in a desk somewhere and someone walks away, what do you think it is? It's God's wisdom crying out. Open it, read it, look at me, listen to me. And they come to the end of life and they refuse to listen to the words of wisdom. And guess what you lose? God doesn't lose. We do. How many famous people lost it? How many rich people lost it? You know why? Because they refuse the words of wisdom. They're too good to themselves. Even today's society from rich and poor, they're too good to themselves. God has no place in their hearts. You know what someone said to me one time? Right here in Riverside, knocking the door. And I have a survey, I still have it, a survey. One of the first questions, it was like this. First, what is your religion? And they tell me religion, I'll write it down. Still have that thing, I can show it to you. Second one is, what do you think about Jesus? You know, this guy told me he was a lunatic. I mean, I have my, and the people look at him up, he said, what? And he repeated again. He's my savior. He's my redeemer. He's my God. He's my king. He's my heavenly father. No, no. Lunatics are those who don't listen to the words of wisdom. That's the lunatics of this world. They think they have it all. And they even say, when I die, I'm going to tell God what he needs to hear. Really, you will. You surely will. So why are we listening to those people? Why don't we listen to the words of wisdom? Folks, I can preach until tomorrow, but it's up to you to receive the words of wisdom this morning. The next one is my last one, be always faithful. Proverbs 3.17 says, faithful ambassadors is health. Be always faithful. What does that mean? Disappointments will come, discouragement will come, pains will come, wars will come, all kinds of things will come. One thing that God wants us to be is faithful. Regardless of what's going on around us. regardless who is in power in that White House. That person is not God, never will be, regardless where we are. If you lose a job, if you have a job, regardless where you are, be faithful to your God. That is wisdom. Be faithful to your God, always, always. God wants us to be faithful. if you have you faithful in man you will be disappointed people disappoint us all the time all right when's the last time you got disappointed by somebody yesterday how many times we say to people you have disappointed me right because that's what we do as people we're not perfect The Book of Proverbs is a practical book. It's a book that fits in a practical life of all of us. Those words of wisdom that I just gave you this morning are very practical words. These words teach us to understand how to live in this present wicked world. This world is not going to get any better. But you can make a difference in your world. I can make a difference. You know why? And I close. We were born for such a time as this. This is my time to serve my Savior. This is a time to worship my King. This is a time to make a difference in the world that I live in. And I don't listen to the words of men, I listen to the Word of God. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, thank you, Lord, for being so good to us. You say in your Word, in the Book of Proverbs, there's wisdom quiet in the streets, looking for someone to hear. Oh Lord, our world is full of people that don't want to hear your word today. They want people to hear them and their foolishness, but they don't want to hear the words of truth. May someone here in this congregation today or even online today, if they're not saved, may they hear the word of truth that Jesus saves. They are sinners and they need to repent of their wrong before God. May we as your children, Lord, may we take your word at face value and practice those truths that we learned this morning. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. Thank you for your attention. What a blessing to see that. Well, if you could stand please as we have a song of invitation. Page 485, that's our theme song. We've been singing this song. Page 485. There's an old altar here. Never be ashamed if God puts on your heart to come and pray. It's right here. It says, O Lord, thou art our Father, and we all are the work of thy hands. Isaiah chapter 64, verse 8. Have thy own way. Have thy own way, Lord, have thy own way. Thou art a potter, I am the clay. Mold me and make me after thy will. While I am waiting, yielded and still, How God's Word is going to change us? When we say, Lord, have your own way, I'm just a piece of clay. Mold me, transform me. When we begin to listen to God's Word. Are you listening to God's Word? Are you on safety today? Do you want the Savior? Let's sing one more verse. Have thy own way, Lord, have thy own way Search me and try me, Master, today Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now As in thy presence, humbly I bow. Continue playing. I'm going to do something because I'm convicted. And I'm not going to do this because I want you to look at me. I'm a sinner like you. The Lord wants me to go to the altar and I'm going to pray. Because I want God's own way in my life. I'm not a celebrity, I'm just a servant of the Lord. And there's no other way to do it, so I'm gonna do it. Folks, we don't play church here. This is serious. It's about God and his word. This is not making a front. This is about our God. You want to walk in wisdom? Stop listening to the voices of this world. You have bad friends? Get rid of them. They will destroy you. You're watching the wrong shows? Don't watch them anymore. You're talking the wrong words? Bite your tongue. Our God is a holy God. He's our Heavenly Father. Don't live like God does not exist. Past time, I'm so young, listen. There was people that served the Lord from birth in the Bible. Samuel was left as a baby in the temple. And all of his life he served God. Daniel was taken as a prisoner of war and serviced God all of his life. Joseph was taken as a prisoner and was still like a dog. He went to Egypt and guess what he did there? He serviced God. There was no mom and dad there. He serviced God all of his life. It doesn't make a difference today. Is God real to you or not? Is the words of God mean something to you or not? Or either we live in wisdom, listen to the word of God when we listen to the folks of this world that make no sense at all. And we think their words are like gold. Words of foolishness. They hate God. And we listen to them. Look at their private lives. That's something you want for you. folks I want to preach to you more and more and more but I'm gonna stop you want more come tonight there is another service at six have thy own way Lord you are the potter I'm just a piece of clay God formed us from the dust of the ground and to the dust of the ground we go again that's who we are we think we're everything we're not he is our maker we're nothing God doesn't need us, we need Him. All right, let's pray. Thank you, Lord. We don't deserve to be loved like this, Lord. We don't deserve your mercy and your grace. Thank you, Lord. You're so good to me. Thank you for my brothers and sisters, Lord. Help us, all of us, here and online, to walk in wisdom. That's what this world needs. From the courts of our White House to every courtroom in this nation, they need an open Bible. That's what they need. That's what's going to transform the heart of man in our own hearts. Go with us, Lord. Bring us back again this evening. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. You are dismissed.
