Why would you leave this mountain? This is where Jesus is. Jesus, the mediator. None of this would be possible if it was not for this one man, the Lord Jesus Christ, the mediator of the new covenant. This mediator who stands in the middle between two parties to reconcile them. The Old Covenant had a mediator, Moses, but he was unable to bring the people up to the mountain. But Jesus has brought us up a mountain to Mount Zion. He has turned Mount Sinai into Mount Zion, where the raging storm and the tempest and the flames have all been quenched. For He has brought peace, everlasting peace.
