And the Lord spake unto Moses, going to Pharaoh, saying to him, Thus saith the Lord, Let my people go, that they may serve me. If thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs. the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly which shall go up and come into thine house, into thy bedchamber, upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, upon thy people, and into thine ovens, into thy kneading troughs." Now you know this, the Bible bares this out, and it specifically does in the book of Revelation. Frogs are a type of evil spirits, unclean spirits. They magnify the unclean spirit. And the frog shall come up both on thee, upon thy people, and all thy servants. And so you go on here in this story, it says the Lord spake unto Moses, saying to Aaron, stretch forth thy hand, with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt. Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt. And the musicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs into the land of Egypt. Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and said, Entreat the Lord that he may take away the frogs from me and from my people, and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice them to the Lord. to cement the deception of these false prophets when these magicians did their enchantments, they brought up frogs also. God let that happen. And he let it happen to prove a point. He let them bring them up, but they couldn't get rid of them. You can do a lot of things to get evil spirits in you, but you can't get them out of you. Once they get on you and get in you, you hung. You become their possession. And only Christ can break that free and the power of that bondage. And Moses said unto Pharaoh, verse nine, glory over me, when shall I entreat for thee and for thy servants, for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and thy houses, that they may remain in the river only? And he said, tomorrow, always tomorrow. I wonder why he didn't say right now. A lot of men preach this and they entitle it another night with the frogs. Why you wanna spend another day with them? I mean, them filthy unclean creatures all over your house and your ovens. I mean, can't even go to sleep, climbing all over you. Why would you even wanna go through that another second? He could've got rid of them right then. He said, no, we'll wait till tomorrow. Why is somebody hooked on drugs and alcohol and sin? Why do you want to wait another day when you can be delivered right now? I mean, why another year, why another week, another day of misery? Why not get rid of that now if God gives you the opportunity to? He said, tomorrow. He said, be it according to thy word. Thou mayest know that there is none like unto the Lord our God. The frogs shall depart from thee, from thy houses, thy servants, and from thy people. They shall remain in the river also. Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh. Moses cried unto the Lord because of the frogs which he brought against Pharaoh. And the Lord did according to the word of Moses, and the frogs died out of the houses and out of the village, out of the fields. They gave them upon heaps, and the land stank. Boy, that's what, hey, them old demon spirits get in a man, his whole life gives forth a stinking aroma. Just a bad odor. You can smell them when you get around them. Had old evil in them. Had old evil on them. Verse 15. And when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, that means relief, he hardened his heart and hearkened not unto them as the Lord had said. I'm gonna talk to you a little bit and I'm not really gonna get into this except by topology. This is for another time. I'll talk to you on the slavery of Satan. The slavery of Satan. Brother Max, pray for us, will you? See, Satan's modus operandi, that means the method and the way that he does things. And without the Bible, what would we know? I mean, this is God's revelation. People that reject God's Word What do they know about anything? What do you know about yourself? How do you know your body, soul, and spirit except the Bible reveals it? How do you know the basic problem of man's is depraved nature if God didn't reveal it in scripture? How would you know the need for salvation if God didn't reveal it in scripture? How would you know? that there's a heaven and a hell. I mean, on what basis would you anchor to anything you believe without an authority? Can you imagine, like Brother Larry Winkler preached here, a world without a Bible? A world without instruction. A world without God's wisdom. A world without the light. A world in darkness. Everybody making this thing up as they go. Everybody doing what they do based on their own opinion. Now the Bible is to be taken in its entirety. And you go from Genesis to Revelation, it's a united whole. The Old Testament and the New Testament are two sides of the same coin. It's a great mistake to think that the Old Testament is just written for Jews and that the New Testament's written for Christians today. It's all written to us. As I said in Sunday school, how the New Testament is in the Old Testament contained. The Old Testament is in the New Testament explained. You understand the Old Testament by the New Testament. You look at the Old Testament, and see out by pictures, types, illustrations, all the truths of the New Testament are found in the Old Testament. In 2 Timothy 3.16, all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable. for doctrine, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished, and all good works. That word perfect means complete in one's understanding. You gotta know it all. You gotta put it all together. It's like a major puzzle. You can't understand God's revelation till you understand all of it from Genesis to Revelation. That's why that we see when Christ was on the road to Emmaus and he spoke to those little pilgrims that had been to Jerusalem, what does it say that he did? He began with the prophet all the way back. Moses, the Pentateuch, and the prophets, all the Old Testament. and revealed himself unto them from the Old Testament. Was the name of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament? No. What did he do? He took symbols, types, and pictures and told them, for example, how Joseph is a type of Christ, how Moses is a type of Christ, how the Passover lamb is a picture of Christ's blood atonement, and so the Old Testament, salvation, the fall of man, it's all pictured in types. foreshadows and his symbols. Now, when you get to the devil, here is what God said in 1 Peter 5, in verse 18, be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, the devil, has a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour. There Satan has a roaring lion, Christ said, the second way he's coming at you. 2 Corinthians 2, 14. And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as ministers of righteousness whose end should be according to their works. Now watch this. Christ said the devil's coming in two ways, as a roaring lion and as an angel of light. How does he come? As an angel of light, through false prophets, through false religion. The devil, nobody's more religious than Satan is. He desires to be worshiped. Satan damns more souls through false religion than he does through the vices of sin. Hell, the Bible says in the last days, that's now, 2 Timothy 3.5, having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof, ritualism. having a forum, reading the Bible, talking about Christ, but denying the power of the new birth, the power of conviction, the power of a changed life, the power of the blood atonement and Christ's sufficiency. Now, it's easy to see Satan as a roaring lion. Look at murderers, serial killers, home breakers, adulterers, homosexuals, child molesters. Have at Satan, like a roaring lion, prostitutes. all this vice and all this sin. And we see it on every hand and every side. But it comes as an angel of light. It might be your daddy. It might be your mother. It might be your pastor. It might be some TV evangelist, somebody on the internet. On the radio, somebody spewing out poison to take away from God's saving grace through the blood of Christ. In 2 Timothy 3, 7. Ever learning, never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. We've got men that go to Bible college, university, seminaries. take doctorate programs, have all of these designations after their name, have their great intellectual knowledge, and they don't even know God. They don't even know how to be saved. Much like Nicodemus, he knew all about religion, but he didn't know God. So many today, they know about the mass. They know about the crucifix. They know about communion. They know about confirmation. They know about catechisms. But it's all head knowledge. There's no power in the heart to live for God. No relationship. In 2 Timothy 3a, Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, this is when he went before Pharaoh, son of these also, resist the truth. Mental corrupt minds reprobate. concerning the truth, 2 Timothy 3, 9. They shall perceive no father, their folly shall be made manifest, and all men as theirs also was. Now, Satan comes in religion. Well, we believe everybody's trying to get to the same place. That's the devil. Everybody's sincere. There's different roads to Rome. So there's different ways to heaven. You got your way. The Buddhist has their way. The Hindus have their way. Judaism has its way. Islam has its way. All roads lead to Rome. The problem is we're not going to Rome. All roads don't lead to heaven. Anybody tells you otherwise is of the devil. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me. St. Corinthians 2.11. Lest Satan should get an advantage of us. We're not ignorant of his devices. Satan's got devices, he's got methods, thoughts. How these devices speak of his mind, his thoughts. And in this instance in 2 Corinthians 2 verse 11, what Satan used there, His device was unforgiveness in the church. People holding grudges. That's how he got a foothold. Now, Jesus warned us, people ask me all the time, why is there so many religions in the world? Christ said that Satan sows the tares among the wheat. Christ said many will make false professions and they're so assured that what they're doing is of God that even at the judgment day, they're still arguing. They're still trying to justify and defend themselves. They'll say, Lord, Did we not cast out devils? Did we not in your name do many wonderful works? Christ said everything you did was works of iniquity. They wasn't by me, they wasn't for me. But those men and women were so convinced that what they were doing was of God. First Timothy, for one. Now the Spirit, that's the Holy Spirit. The Spirit speaketh expressly. That word expressly is with great authority. It means to issue a command. What does the Holy Spirit speak expressly? He said in the latter times, Some shout apart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils, speaking lies and hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron. Notice, these demons are seductive. They lead into error and corruption. Their doctrines of devils, there's never been A nation that's had greater revival than America, but there's never been a nation that more false religion has been spawned from than America. Seventh-day Adventist, Jehovah Witness, Mormons, Scientology, all this new age movement, go down the line. They were birthed in America. Doctrines of devils, lies of the devil. I'll tell you this, Mormon religion, a Jehovah witness, have their new Bibles. You don't need a new Bible. That ought to tell you right now. They're as phony as a $3 bill. We've got God's revelation. This Bible is not all God knows, but it's all that you need to know. Last Monday night, to illustrate this, I went over to Keith's house. There's two men standing there. You know who they probably are. White shirt, black tie, black pants. I walked up, he already had them rattled, because what can you do with a man getting saved as wicked as he was and God changing his life? I looked at the young man, the trainee. I asked him this question. I said, you believe that Jesus Christ was God? He said, no. I said, if you're wrong about Jesus, you're wrong about everything. If you don't get that part right, you'll get nothing right. I said, do you believe the Bible is the word of God? They got a King James Bible. He said, we're taught that the Bible's the word of God. I said, what are you gonna do with I Timothy 3.16? For without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness. God was manifest in the flesh. If Christ is not God manifest in the flesh, he forgave sin, he received worship, he had the attributes of God. If Christ isn't God, who is he? The more experienced guy said immediately, we've got to go. How many couldn't handle one verse? and they're begging their eternal destiny on that bunch of garbage and lies of the devil. They told Keith, they began to tell me, you don't understand what we sacrificed. We raised money. We pay our own way. We give years of our life to do what we're doing. Ah, ah, ah, ah. Not one word about Christ. Not one word about the blood of Christ and the atonement. Not one word how that Jesus Christ has paid the sin debt. What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. False religion always gets it wrong. about Christ, the authority of scripture, and about salvation by grace, through faith, plus nothing, minus nothing. All false religion adds warts to salvation. takes away from the authority of God's Word and the authority of Christ. And these doctrines of devils are like serpents as they're sucking up the multitude and telling men what they want to hear. But this old time bloody gospel that I preach, that Christ was virgin born, and he lived a sinless life. He died, the sin of the world was placed on him. He who knew no sin became sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. He was buried, and the third day he rose again. And for me to be saved, it's not enough to just believe those facts. The Holy Spirit has got to show me I'm lost, and that I cannot save myself, no matter how much I give to charity, give to the church, no matter how many good works I do, there's nothing I can do to save myself, but the wrath of God has been appeased through the death of Christ, and when the Holy Spirit works the knowledge that I'm a sinner, and that I must repent, turn from my sin, and that Christ died for me, when I yield to him, bow my heart before him, humble myself to accept him as the only Lord, God, and Savior. That's when God saves me by faith, through the grace of God. I don't deserve it. I can never deserve it. I can't do nothing to pay for it. I can do nothing to keep it. It's the saving grace of God. And those that have been saved have a persevering faith inside of them that gives them victory in this world. Now in the last days, we look at the operation of Satan. God said it's gonna be so great. Then Ephesians 16, he admonished the church. Every believer is to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to withstand an evil day. or to destroy the wiles of the devil, that's his deceptions. If you don't put on the whole armor of God, you're gonna be deceived. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities. Who is it talks you out of reading the Bible? Who is it talks you out of praying? Who is it talks you out of being systematically under the preaching of God's word? Be strong in the Lord. and the power of his might. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual weakness in high places. Verse 13 of Ephesians 6, wherefore, taking you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand in the evil day, having done all to stand. Now, I get to my main part right here. Many of us know the means of Satan, but we don't know his methods. He fools us, he tricks us, he deceives us, and he cons us. How do social drinkers become drunks? Because they don't know the methods of Satan. How does a little innocent church girl that's been raised right, made a vow to God, she'd never violate her virginity before she gets married, how does she end up pregnant? She don't know the methods of Satan. The dark place. The touching. the kissing, the music that breaks her down, alcohol, drugs, the con artist of a boy or a girl, as far as that's concerned. You know why good church members end up in hell? They don't know the methods of God. of Satan, they don't know his modus operandi because they don't take enough time to study it out from God's word. I wanna ask you a question, this is just being reasonable. If you wanna know, if I wanna know, for example, Seth's secrets, I go to him a total stranger, and I say, I want you to tell me your secrets. I want you to tell me where your weak spot is. I want you to tell me the chink in your armor. You know what? He's not gonna tell me that. I go to his best friends, those that really, and you don't know anybody except what they let you know. You can live with somebody 50 years in holy matrimony and never know them. You just know what they let you know about their self. I ask his friends, would you tell me his strengths and weaknesses? If they're his real friend, they won't tell me either. How do you find out the chink in the armor of a man? How do you do it? I'll tell you how you do it. You go to his most sworn enemy. Think about it. Somebody that studied that person. Somebody that knows them. Somebody that's out for their destruction. And if they think you're on their side to destroy them, they'll spew out their weaknesses. In one of my favorite movies of all time, The Patriot, Benjamin Martin. They have confiscated the correspondence of Lord Cornwallis. They read his battle strategy. They read how they had won victories at different places. Those men said, the militia, Benjamin Martin being the commander of the militia, they said, how in the world can we defeat such a foe? Benjamin Martin says, his tactics and strategies are brilliant. Can we defeat him? You know what Benjamin Martin said? He said, we're gonna defeat him through his weakness. They said, what's his weakness? Benjamin Martin said, his pride. And the British went out on the battlefield and lined up in all their pride. and that's how they were defeated. Our men jumped behind trees, they were snipers, and they would, the main target of warfare in the Revolutionary War was to break through the enemy's line. They killed so many of their superiors and their officers. Let me tell you something, if you want to know something about the devil, don't go to Hollywood, they're his friends. Don't go to rock country music and the music of the wall, they're doing his bidding. Don't go to religion, they're propagating his lies. Hollywood always portrays Satan in one or two ways. They either make him out to be a joke, to not be taken seriously, or else he's some red monster with pointed ears and a forked tongue that can easily be discernible when he walks up. There's not a bigger lie that's ever been told. The devil transforms himself in the ministers of righteousness. There's preachers all over America that are agents of the devil right now on Sunday morning. Hey, if you wanna find out of somebody, who do you go to? I tell you who you go to, you go to their enemy. God has a perfect hatred of the devil. He tells you in this book what Satan's up to, what he's gonna do to you. Have you got enough sense to listen to it? Or are you so intellectually superior that that Bible is superstition and fables tell you the devil will laugh at you all the way to hell when you reject that book. You've rejected how God reveals it. Let's rationalize this thing. If you go home today and your door's standing wide open, you approach the house, you know something bad wrong. Your dog has been killed and it's laying in the doorway dead. You step over the dead body of that dog, you see the curtains pulled down, windows bashed in. You see the drawers are all pulled and emptied out on the floor. You go into your bedroom, the closets have been ransacked. It's obvious a thief has been there. And you call the police and you begin to try to tell them what's happened. What conclusion would you come to? If you went in, dead dog, everything ransacked, what would you think? Somebody has come to steal? and to kill and to destroy. Did you get that? Somebody has come to steal and to kill and to destroy. You call the law. This man, whoever done this, man, woman, whoever it is, number one's got to be identified. Number two, they've got to be stopped. Number three, they've got to be arrested. Number four, the whole community has got to be warned against them. Jesus said, that the thief, the devil, has come to kill and to steal and to destroy. He said, I've come that they might have life, have it more abundantly. We want Satan to steal our children from us, break up our marriages, destroy the health of our young people, mayhem, slaughter, violence, death, Nobody in this country hardly left got enough sense to say that enemy has got to be identified. That enemy has got to be stopped. That enemy has got to be told on. Everybody has got to be warned what this enemy is doing to society. But you know what our answer is? It's man's environment. It's a lack of social justice. It's unemployment. It's a lack of education. It's a lack of federal aid. That's their answer. When you got rich boys like the Menendez boys, killed their own mom and daddy, raised in the best of conditions, you got Columbine High School and that massacre, and the massacre at Virginia Tech, the massacre of those Amish children a few years ago, it's obvious there's something behind all this. What's behind you rejecting God? Do you ever think about it? What's behind you not trying to analyze? You used to be a little innocent boy or girl. Now you're full of rage and passions and lust. You become the person you always said you'd never be. You become the person your parents always warned you. When are you gonna wake up and try to find out what's behind this? Thief comes in, tires your house up. You don't call the law, you fix the windows, clean everything up, and say, well, maybe it won't happen again. The Bible says in I John 5, 19, we know that we are of God and the whole world alive in wickedness. There's an explanation for this if you'll listen to it. The thief cometh not but for to steal and to kill and to destroy. Revelation 12, nine. And the great dragon was cast out. That old serpent called the devil and Satan which deceiveth the whole world. Why are they deceived? They don't need that. They're so brilliant, they don't have to listen to it. They're so brilliant, they don't have to live it. They're the most deceived of all. Oh, Satan, his deception, his sin, Satan's motive and means are illustrated in the book of Exodus. I'm gonna give you just a portion of this, deal with this at another time. But Pharaoh, Moses, The children of Israel, the slavery illustrates this to perfection what men are doing in this hour. God's people are held in bondage. That means slavery. And Pharaoh is forcing them to do his biddings. All through scripture. Genesis to Revelation. Egypt. Always a top of the world. The system of Egypt, a type of this world system. Pharaoh, always a type of Satan. Slavery, bondage, always a type of what sin does to the individual. In John 12, 31, Christ said Satan is the prince of this world. John 14, 30, Hereafter I'll not talk much with you, for the prince of this world cometh, he hath nothing in me. Christ recognized Satan's authority, but he said, he's got nothing in me. The devil has nothing in common with Christ. Satan's a king. He rules in the hearts and lives of people. It's evident. Now, it's only at certain times that this becomes evident to all, but the truth's there. Ephesians 2 says, before we were saved, we walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience. Folks, listen to me. How can a man or woman, young person, grow up knowing that if they're not saved, they're gonna spend eternity in hell? How do we live every day knowing that? Because there's a mastermind behind your rejection. And the devil seduces a person and deceives them. Well, you'll get saved later. You'll get saved right before you die. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Well, you do this and you do that and you'll be good enough. All those lies to get a person don't, hey, why don't you get mad at the devil? What Satan's done to you? Why don't you get mad at Satan? What Satan's cost you? Instead of getting mad at God, why don't you get mad at the real source of your problems? Listen to this now, I'm gonna give you this real quick. When the children of Israel lived in Egypt, they lived in Goshen. That means they did not live among the Egyptians. that Hebrews were shepherds. Shepherds were an abomination to the Egyptian. That's why Moses could not sacrifice in the land because they would have been killed by the Egyptians. God made it that way so that the Israelites would remain a distinct race from the Egyptians so that Christ could be born, have a Jewish body. Now, every day, Those Hebrews, Jews, are forced to get up in the hot, burning sand. The Nile River runs through Egypt. That's how it's sustained. All life is off that river. It's a desert land. They're making bricks, gathering sticks, all for Pharaoh that they've never seen. He's invisible to them. I guarantee you this, many of them lived their whole life, never seen Pharaoh one time. The one that's responsible for their plight. But every day, at a certain time, Everybody got up, worked from daylight to dark. They lived in the same kind of houses. They wore the same kind of clothes. They ate the same kind of food. They were all slaves. Come master, they'd never seen. They're building him buildings. They're doing his bidding. They're going to work, they're coming home. They're not being blessed by their labors. They're barely existing on a meager existence. They come home, go to bed. Get up, work again. Come home, go to bed. Get up, work again. Day in, day out. day out, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year. All they did was lived and died for the glory of Pharaoh. And this generation is gonna raise the next generation to grow up and do the same thing. And the next generation will raise their children to grow up. and do the same thing. I got a question for you. What are you living for? What are you doing that's gonna have a life? impact that'll last before, after you're dead. James 4, 4. For as you know not what shall be on the morrow, what is your life? It's a vapor that appeareth for a little time and vanishes away in light of eternity. Past eternity, future eternity. Our life appears like a vapor. In light of all that eternal existence, my life is no more than a puff of air or smoke that goes up into the air. What meaning has your life got? What purpose are you living for? Are you simply slaving? for one who has promised much and delivered little. The devil does that. If you'll follow me, I'll do this for you. No peace, no hope, no joy, no expectation. Empty. Get up every day. The whip of material gain. The whip of greed. The whip of chasing sinful pleasure. The whip of intellectual power. The whip of living up now. Day after day, that whip, that driving force is coming down upon people. And they get up and they live. They go to bed. And they get up, that same monotonous existence. No hope, no God, no peace. Generation after generation being raised for the same thing. You know, if you're fortunate enough to live to ripe old age, you know what you get? You die, they put you in a casket, and they bury you in the grave, and a few days later you're forgotten about like you never existed by most people. Now that's people's existence. Jesus said, hey, if you don't know the enemy, God knows. Hey, you smarter than God? Do you wanna know what God said? There's a way out, are you interested? or you'll just keep on that old empty life, monotonous living, raising up a generation to be as miserable as you are and defeated as you are? Why don't we think about somebody besides ourself? John 8, 32, you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free, but you'll not know the truth if you don't humble yourself to hear the truth and obey the truth. Religious people standing there. Jesus said, you know truth and truth will set you free. Ours old man's pride arguing. Arguing with God. God said, you need to get saved. Well, no I don't. Boy, you see what fools we become. They stood there and said, we be Abraham's seed. We're never in bondage to any man. How sayest thou, you shall be made free? What are you doing telling us we need to be free? We're not slaves. We're the children of Abraham. Of course Christ isn't talking. Well, they're under Roman subjection right then. They're not free. They're a bunch of liars and arguers and debaters and skeptics. You can tell them that wall's white and they'll argue with you through their teeth. They're gonna admit you're a rat. John 8, 34, Jesus answered them, verily, verily, I say unto you, whosoever commit a sin is the servant of sin. John 8, 36, if the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free. Indeed, this is one of the greatest secrets of Satan, that men, they're living their life doing what they please. They're not living for God, but they're just doing what they, no, no, no. You're either serving sin, Satan, or God. That's why Satan wants you to be the seed he manipulates, seduces us to bring glory to ourself instead of God. You know what gets me? The devil's doing this and people don't even recognize it. They're so blind they don't even recognize it. Listen to this. They'll go to Bible school. They'll make a profession at six years old. They'll live their whole life for the devil and they're so deceived that they think that little old prayer is gonna save them. Some of you in here today, you're banking on something that ain't never done a thing for you. The devil is seducing you, manipulating your mind. The only hope you've got, stay in the truth, stay in the light. When God reveals to you your condition, be honest and admit it. There's a drive to accumulate in this world. Everything we can get our hands on for what? You'll probably have young that's not appreciated and they'll blow it in six months even if you leave them some. For what? What are we accomplishing? Only this life will soon be passed. Only what's done for Christ will last. Now I know you gotta go to work. Don't misunderstand what I'm saying. You gotta live your life. But what's the purpose of it? What's the end game? God told Pharaoh through his servant 11 times, let my people go. Ah, notice the freedom. Yes, freedom from Satan, slavery, and a life of futility. You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. If the Son, therefore, shall make you free, you shall be free indeed. 1 John 3a, for this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. What's that mean? Christ destroys the works of the devil in the lives of everybody he saves. You're not under that same bondage you used to be under. Sin shall not have dominion over you. You've got a power over sin. You've got desire to live for God. Oh, there's a preacher one time that said he was gonna baptize people, said he never did for months when somebody made a profession to see how they acted. Another man said his child made a profession. and he didn't rejoice. One of the deacons in the church asked him, Pastor, your child made a profession to be saved. Why are you not rejoicing? He said, I'm waiting to see if God the Father treats them like his child first. Let that sink in. There's some you got by too long. If you don't belong to God, he'll take a whip to your back and you know it. Don't be deceived. Oh, Christ comes to set us free, to give us a real reason to live, to provide payment for sin. 2 Corinthians 4.3, but if our gospel be hid, it's hid to them that are lost. Now you want to know what? God is the devil's main enemy, chief enemy. He's telling you what Satan does. Do you want to know? There's a thief at the door. God calls his preacher a watchdog. There are thieves at the door and this dog's a barker. I'm trying to warn you. Most of these churches today, there are thieves at the door and the low down sorry dog won't bark. Let our gospel be hid. It's hid to them that are lost, and whom the God of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not. That's the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, whose image of God should shine unto them. Get them out from under the light. Let them count up. Never hear preaching. Don't get them in Sunday school. Keep them from the light. Keep them from the light. Hey, listen to me. You can raise your young as they popper in this world. I wonder how many Sunday mornings when they should have been right here in God's house, they're out chasing games and dreams. Hey, the devil is deceiving. Keep them from the light. Keep them from the truth. And our gospel is here, it's here. Hey, the darkness has moved in. People need the light. You know what little old carnal believers do? You preach something that hits them between the eyes, they get mad, boy. You know what the hope is? God let these Jews get their belly full of slavery. All this time, Brother Rick, they ain't crying out for deliverance. They're wallowing in that misery. But when it came close to the time, listen now, if you forgot everything I said, all right, listen, listen to this. When it got time for God to send Moses down, All of a sudden, they got sick of their slavery. If God hadn't quickened them, opened their eyes up and intervened, they'd have lived and died, raised another generation, live and die, live and die, live and die, and they'd have been satisfied in their misery. Some of you's going down the road of life, you don't know what you're doing sitting here in this church service. I'll tell you why. Because God is trying to pull you out of slavery. Number one, the slave's gotta get sick of his sin. Slavery. You know what? You gotta realize you can't free yourself. You'll never get free till you find out there's a way out and only God can do it. You can't change yourself. Hey, you ain't got power over yourself, you won't last a week and fall right back off the wagon. You know why? Cause you're a slave. Go right back to that ABC store. Go right back to that drug, pshaw. Go right back to that pornography. Go right back to that holly. You know why? You're a slave to sin. What you got, you'll be willing to let go. Before God deliver them, he let them see the bondage they're in, I'm about done. Their total inability to free themselves, God's provision to free them. How did they get out of Egypt? They slew a lamb and put its blood on the doorpost and the lintel, and when God come through the land, killin' the firstborn, everybody under the protection of that blood was safe. You can't get out of slavery till the blood of Christ has applied to your life. Revelation 12, 11, speaking of the devil. And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony. The blood of the lamb. Word of their testimony. There's a victory. When you get saved, you gotta confess it publicly. The word of their testimony. You might be saved, but you'll never get the victory you need till you make it public. God's provision, the blood of the Lamb, the power of God, it took God's power to open the Red Sea that they could go forward. Exodus 1, at first we see them coexisting with Pharaoh and the Egyptians. Exodus 1 11, where therefore they did set even them test masters to afflict them with their burdens. Some of you have been afflicted. Are you sick of it yet? Do you love that misery? Mom and daddy ain't always gonna be around to prop you up. Hey, it's time to be a man. It's time to be a woman. Act with some responsibility. The devil is afflicting you. They built for Pharaoh treasures and Python and Ramses. And the more they afflicted them, the more they grew, and they were grieved because of the children of Israel. And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigor. That word rigor means harshness, severity, cruelty, oppression, tyranny, and Christian. Hey, you want what the devil does? He'll get you robbed, steal, plundered. No, your own kin of people don't even want to see you coming. He'll make such a slave out of you. Then that guilt's gonna come in. One of these days, them young ones are gonna grow up and you've never been around them, discarded them. All that guilt's gonna pile up on you like a mountain. Hey, that might be fun now. You better enjoy hell's a coming. Tyranny! Then when Satan has destroyed your life, he'll whisper in your ear, kill yourself. They made their lives bitter with hard bondage and murder and break. All manner of service in the field, all their service which they made them was with rigor, bitter, resentful, severe hostility, difficult to accept anguish, and disappointment. Listen to me, lost wife, your husband ain't your problem. If he's saved, your problem is you can't have fellowship with him because you don't know God and it's causing all that friction. If you got a husband, if you got a saved wife, you can't have fellowship with her. It's butt and heads fighting all the time because it's light and darkness. Some of y'all need to wake up. Never worship God one time, never fellowship with God, that you'll die saying you're saved. My God, you're deceived. The liar keeps on lying. The thief keeps on stealing. You know what? Never make it right, never. When they get caught red-handed, you gotta drag a sorry out of them if you get a I'm sorry then. Oh, but they're going to heaven. Can't believe a word they say. All right, now listen to me. What's behind that? Go to work every day of the week, but get sick every Sunday. What's behind that? Your husband, your wife can't satisfy you. They can't fulfill you. Only God can do that. Go get married 10 more times. They can't either. Hey, it takes God to fill that emptiness. People wake up to their misery and think going to get another man or woman's gonna solve it. Hard bondage. Difficult, living, fierce, intense, hard servitude, bondage, enslavement. It means a state of subjection by force, power, influence. Are you content to stay there? That drunk gets up every morning. I'll never do it again. And by that night, it's a magnet pulls him back in the liquor store. And that man'll argue, stays drunk 50 years. Oh, I'm saved, I'm saved, I'm saved. My God, how deceptive Satan is. I'll ask you a question. If some of y'all are saved, why have you never hit the floor of this church and give a bona fide testimony of when God saved you like my sister did today? I mean something that's convincing. Where God give you power over sin, where God changed your life. I'll tell you in the history of going to church five or 10 years, there's gonna be at least one time God says, get up and tell it. You can't tell in God's church how you gonna tell that yonder. You ain't got something that'll motivate you in God's house. How's he gonna get you to heaven? Deceived. People run to altar to get the guilt off of them. They don't want changed. They ain't sick of that sin yet. Boy, you gotta get sick of that slavery. In the passing process of time, the king of Egypt died. Children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage. And they cried. Their cry came up unto God by reason of their bondage. God heard their groaning. God remembered his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And God looked upon the children of Israel. God had respect unto them. You cannot free yourself. You can't do it. See, our biggest problem is, you tell a lost man, you know, Jesus died for you, well that almost defends him. Died for me, what have I ever done against God? Give you this illustration I'm through. You walk up to a man, and said there was a man went down to the magistrate and just paid $25,000 traffic fine on your behalf. That won't mean nothing to him. He says, what have I done? $25,000, you got to be crazy. Well, I'm a good person. I've never done anything to offend the traffic laws that bad. What are you talking about? Go to that same man and reverse how you approach him. And say, you know what, remember last week you was driving through town. What you don't know, there's having a little rally that day of blind people. That 55 mile an hour speed limit had been reduced to 15 miles an hour. And you had 10 warnings of which you, you must have been on your cell phone or something, you disregarded every warning. And went through that blind children's crossing like it was nothing, like they wasn't even there. And they issued a warrant for your arrest. But there's somebody that you don't know went down that knew the judge and paid a $25,000 fine on your behalf. When you realize you've done that, you broke man's law. You put people in jeopardy and bondage of destruction you could have caused. You say, just tell me one thing, who's the man that paid my debt? I'm here today to tell you you're gonna go to hell because you broke God's law. But I'm also here to tell you You broke God's law so bad. The first commandment is, thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, all thy soul, and all thy strength. And there's not a person in here who's done that when you break the first and you broke all the rest of them. You broke God's law so bad, there's an eternal hell waiting on you. That's how offensive your sin is to God. Your sin's so offensive that it took Christ down on the cross, God becoming flesh, to pay the sin debt. Hey somebody, some of you don't know, you've never met him, but he's paid your debt and he paid it in full. Boy, you can spew out that Tommy rock till the Holy Ghost shows up and convicts you and lets you feel how guilty you are and you'll be glad to hear somebody paying your debt because you're bankrupt and can't do it. We're breakers of God's law. If you offend Him one point, you're guilty of all. That means one sin will take you to hell as if you committed every one of them. Because sin separates you from God. You've got to be forgiven of that sin nature. What you are. Is this another Sunday? Where the devil's already. He's already slick talking you. Wait till the night. Wait till next Sunday. You know you're saved. You ain't live like you today, you're alive, but you know. You and God's got your own thing going. You and God, hey, listen to me! Preachers go to hell every day. Deacons go to hell every day. Church members that are lost. Lost! Lost! Every day, somebody in this building's in trouble with God. He's saying right now, you better come. You're gonna listen to one or two voices. You're gonna listen to Satan or you're gonna listen to the Holy Spirit. You're gonna leave here, if you leave lost, go right back out them doors, still a slave. I have, you know, I don't do drugs and I don't drink. Slave to greed. Slave to what people think. Slave of some image. It don't have to be that way. Are you sick of the slavery? You sick of going to church and, man, you want everybody's guts, you can't figure this thing out. That ain't never happened to me. I tell you one thing, you better have something you're willing to die with. If I didn't have enough salvation to get me to church, I sure wouldn't think I had enough to get me to heaven. If I didn't have enough salvation to give me the grace to live for God at least once in a while, I sure would realize I ain't got enough to get me to heaven. You say, but what embarrassment it would be. Oh, you don't know embarrassment yet you stand before him and the whole world knows you're lost. You can come today among friends and get a royal reception. We'll roll the red carpet out for you. Stay as long as we need to stay. Pray as long as we need to pray. Pull for you, rejoice with you. If you'll come to our Lord. Let's stand on our feet. Obey God. Obey Him. Obey God. Listen, my dear friend. You can argue with me all you want to. I'm not God. I'm not trying to act like I am. You're gonna stand before Him. You're gonna stand before Him, you're not gonna fool Him. He knows. He knows. Another day of deception. Another day of deception. Oh God.
