And thank you, Bible Baptist Church. As you guys see, going to be a few months ago I preached here at the church. And after I finished, Joey came to me and asked me. that if I preached again, if he would be able to translate for me in Spanish. So when Pastor Eric asked me to preach today, I went to Joey. He's a newbie. But I went to him and I asked him if he would be willing to do it. And he said, yes. Praise God. Like you guys know, Pastor Eric says, I've been here since about 2000. 2001. It was January 2001 when we first came to this church because my daughter Elizabeth was born in January 20th of 2000. I've been here since 2000. Because my daughter, Elizabeth, was born in December. We've been here for close to 24 years now. And I know that God brought us here that day for this time. When I first came here, I never thought I'd be preaching in Spanish. Pastor Jim from TLC. Here in Woodbridge, over here. I met him at a cruise last year. And I left an impression in his heart. And when I asked him, and he called, well he had someone call me to meet with him. And when I sat with him, he told me that during prayer and what to do with that building, because the building's been abandoned for two years. He said that Lord put an impression on me in his heart during his prayer time. that the Lord left an impression in his heart. And he put me in his heart. And even though we have different doctrines, because they're assemblies of God church, He knows that I preach the gospel. And he wants a gospel preaching church in that facility. And thank God, you know, that, again, something we were thinking about, but not right now. But we were supposed to move there this, in the coming week. But Pastor Jim wants to make the church, he wants to fix it up really well for us. So he's, they're reconstructing the whole facility downstairs for us, brand new. And because of that, we're going to wait until the first week of November to move. But even in the details, you see how God has, again, taken care of everything. I haven't asked for anything. So keep praying for us, you know, this is a big step. It's a big financial step for us. So just keep praying for us. And I'm very thankful for Bible Baptist Church, again, and the Lord for giving us the opportunity to be able to minister here for years. Amen? Now let's open up our Bibles to Psalm 100. It's funny because I was preaching on Psalm 100 and Pastor Eric read Psalm 100 this morning. He put that verse in both of our hearts. So let's open up our Bibles to Psalm 100. Let's get on our feet and let me read the verse as you guys follow along. Psalm 100. It starts off in the beginning, a psalm for Thanksgiving, and that'll be the title for our message. Holy Father, Lord Jesus, I pray to you, Lord, today, Lord, and I just pray, Lord, for your wisdom and just power, Lord, as I preach your word, Lord, that this Holy Spirit may guide me and use me as an instrument, Lord, For your will, Lord, I pray that this passage, Lord, may come alive in our hearts and our lives, Lord, and you may help us see it in a way we've never seen it before. That we may learn, Lord, again, what true worship is, Lord, and what you expect from us, and what you desire from us, Lord, and that we may truly be thankful for all you've done. I pray for this in Jesus' name, amen. You may be seated. Every Sunday, a beautiful thing happens all around the world. Millions of people gather in churches to worship and praise the Lord. Whether in big or small buildings, whether poor or rich people, people from all walks of life gather in God's holy name to worship Yahweh. Worship can be portrayed as us being redeemed subject of God's kingdom, entering his throne room and coming before him and giving him glory that's due to him. In all true worship, the believer approaches God in humility, entering his courts with awe. This is the essence of worship. Psalm 100 describes God's people going into the house to worship Him. The psalm gives us the attitude we should have in doing so. This psalm also gives us seven imperatives or verbs or commands which we should follow. The first one being make a joyful noise or really shout. Second, worship. Segundo, servir. Third, come. Venir. Fourth, know. Saber. Enter. Entrar. Give thanks. Dar gracias. And praise. Y bendecir. In a very practical sense, this Psalm teaches us the actual purpose of the church, and how we're supposed to come to the church. First point, the volume of worship to Yahweh. Psalm 1 says, make a joyful noise to the Lord all the earth. Psalm 100 speaks of joy of the church as something that's audible, something that's loud. I love the way the commentator Marvin Tate describes it. He says the enthusiasm of Israelite worship is illustrated throughout Psalm 93 to 100. Shouts are raised, praises chanted, and sung while musical instruments are played and horns blown. The noise of the temple worship was legendary, he says. Si alzan gritos, se cantan alabanzas, y se tocan instrumentos musicales y trompetas. El ruido del culto en el templo era legendario. The ESV, our translation says, make a joyful noise. But if you read the LSB, or the NSAB, it translated, make a loud shout. In the CSB, Christian Standard Version, it says, shout triumphantly. So you can see, that we are to what? Make a loud noise, make a powerful sound. You know, when we come into worship, it should be something that's loud. En inglés, hay muchas versiones diferentes que usan otra palabra. This is also a call for all the earth's population to come together and worship Yahweh. A vital part of worship is presenting ourselves to the Lord for His service. The New Testament instructs us to make ourselves as living sacrifices. In worship for the Lord. True worship leads to service, and true service is worship. We also see here that we should not serve the Lord out of duty or obligation. We should serve Him with gladness of our hearts. Because of God's great love and mercies, we should serve Him willingly and with joy. We should also remember what a tremendous privilege it is to be servants of such a great King. Verse 2 continues with this. You see that we have the first imperative. to shout the second imperative in verse 2, to serve. And now we see the third imperative, to what? Come into his presence with singing. We should come before the Lord's presence. The word literally means, before his face, with songs of joy on our lips. The command is directed to our demeanor, to our attitude in how we come before the Lord. Este mandamiento está dirigido a nuestra conducta o actitud cuando venimos a la casa de Dios para adorar. Some people allege it to believe that today. But the psalmist extended the call to worship here in the psalm. So churches across the world are supposed to respond to this call and come together and worship the Lord on a regular basis. Sadly, too many people today don't practice that. Hebrews 10.25 tells us, not neglecting to meet together, talking about the church, as is habit with some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near. You see with that verse that we are to gather together as a body. The only way for us to grow is through gathering together. And the only way I can benefit from your gifts is when we are together. Which is the only way for us to grow. I need from you, and you need from me. We need from each other. And that's why we gather together. Second point. Know Yahweh, He is the only true God. Psalm 100 verse 3 says, and we have again over here the next imperative, the fourth imperative. It says, know that the Lord, He is God. It is He who made us and we are His. We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. You've noticed up to now I've been using the word Yahweh. Which is the translation of God's name in the Bible. The word translated Lord with capital L-O-R-D in our Bibles is the Tetragrammation of YHWH, which is Again, the way God's name is spelled in the Bible without vowels, which we pronounce as Yahweh or Jehovah. Now, Jehovah was used as an adaptation of Yahweh, which was used later in the 16th century. And you'll see it in the King James Version, in the Spanish Bibles, you'll see it in the Reina Valera 1916 Version. That's how reverent they were. And that's how, again, however they were to Yahweh and who he was and his name, and not really blaspheming who he was. And this is based on Leviticus 26.16, where the word says, Moreover, the one who blasphemes the name of Yahweh shall surely be put to death. So instead, when reading scripture out loud, the Jews substituted the tetragrammation of YHWH as the word Adonai, which is Lord. Even in the Septuagint, which is the Greek translation of the Old Testament used in biblical times, the translators substitute the Greek word kurios to Lord for the divine name of God. Make a loud shout to Yahweh, all the earth. Serve Yahweh with gladness. Come before him with joyful songs. Know that Yahweh, he is God. It is he who has made us, and not we ourselves. We are his people and the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him. Bless his name, for Yahweh is good. His love kindness endures forever, and his faithfulness generation unto generation. Psalm 100, verse 1 to 5. Para la acción de gracias, aclama a Yahweh, tierra entera. Sirvan a Yahweh con alegría. The psalmist invited all the people of the earth to know Yahweh. which is the name by which God revealed Himself to us. It is the name by which He swore when He made His covenant with us. This name guarantees that He will keep all His promises. To know Yahweh means to know the one and only God, personally, intimately, and by experience. Essentially, the psalmist is inviting all of us to come into a personal relationship with God. To experience God and to see for themselves that he keeps his promises. He is the one and true living God. Now, you can ask your, now I have the question why? And you keep reading in verse 3 where he says, it is he who made us and we are his. The psalmist is also letting the whole world know that God is the creator. Aquí el salmista dejó saber al mundo entero que nuestro Dios es el creador. He made us, therefore we are his. Verses 4 and 5 Read, enter his gates with thanksgiving, his courts with praise, give thanks to him, bless his name, for the Lord is good, his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. The psalmist here is addressing the people ascending to Mount Zion to worship the Lord at the temple, the place where His presence resides in a special way. As they entered through the gates of the courtyard of the temple, they were to offer thanksgiving and praise Yahweh. The message is clear. God wants us to come to His presence with a thankful heart, gratitude to Him, with a heart of worship. Dios quiere que lleguemos a su presencia con corazones agradecidos. More than that, He's our Savior. When we, the most special objects of His creation strayed from sinning, He made a way back through Jesus Christ. He provided our salvation, again, by offering His Son as a sacrifice for our sin. Again, he says, give thanks to him. Bless his name. Which calls for a wholehearted response. I pray, Lord, that as we come to this place every week, Lord, that we may put our lives behind us and we may come into your presence, acknowledging that we're in the presence of the almighty God. and that, again, we are here to worship you, to glorify your name. And understand this is just more than us doing habitually coming to church or doing things because our parents told us or because we feel good about ourselves. We are coming to the presence of the Almighty God every Sunday to hear from Him what He has to say to us. And we worship Him and praise Him because of this. You are a real God. And I pray that everyone here may treat you as a real God, Lord. I pray that everyone here may know you as their God. And that everyone here may, again, if they don't, that they may come into knowledge of who you are. I pray for this in Jesus' name, amen. Before I finish, I just want to do one more thing. I want to ask if Pastor Eric can come up and the elders can please come up. And I just want to say thank you to all of you. You guys don't realize, but Pastor Eric, he's the last one to come into the group when we brought him in. John, Mike, and Len have been, again, part of my life since I've been here at the church. I've had the privilege of being part of the elder group with John and Len, and it's been a blessing to serve alongside them. for all these years, they've been good friends. I'm going to tell you the truth, they're people that you can really count on and really people that you can talk to when you need someone to talk to. I know John was always one confronting me with my health. And Lenny always with his advice, and Pastor Eric also. It's been a blessing. Mike, again, I had the blessing of meeting Mike and started working in the youth ministry with him. And I always remember his nickname, Machine Gun Mike. When he first started out, he would have nine pages of notes, and he would just read them. But just a blessing to see how God has used him and all of you guys in this church from where we started to where we are now. And it's been a pleasure. It's bittersweet leaving. Again, we haven't been interacting as much because of the two churches, but I just want to say thank you. I have a little gift for each of you. This is for John, for Mike, for Len, and pastor. This is for you, you got muscles. That's the blessing of being a pastor. Would you pray? Would you pray for us? Father God, again, we just come to you just thankful, Lord God, for who you are. You're the one that said you will build your church. And you are faithful in what you do. And you are building your church, Lord, whether it's in English, whether it's in Spanish, whether it's in Chinese, or whatever language it would be around the globe, Lord God, you are building your church. We thank you that you're faithful. Lord, help us to continue to be faithful. Empower us and strengthen us to be faithful. Be with IBH, Lord God, as they prepare to move the Karlstadt, Lord God. I pray, Lord God, that that church would thrive and grow, and in the community they would draw people to the Lord Jesus Christ, Lord, as they meet week after week, as they enter into your gates with thanksgiving, into your courts with praise. And we ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen and amen. All right. All right, I'm going to ask the ushers to come forward. We're going to take an offering specific for IBH to help them move. Lord bless the offering. so As the men come forward to serve the elements, it's our tradition to take a moment to check our hearts. The Lord says that we should examine ourselves before we partake of the Lord's table. Because if we partake of this in an unworthy manner that we drink judgment upon ourselves, that means we just can't come any way we want. If there's sin that we're unwilling to repent of, do not partake of the Lord's table. But if there is sin that you've been convicted of and you repent, partake of the Lord's table. If you're God's child today, partake of the Lord's table. If you're not, confess your sins, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and partake of the table today. Let's take a moment, let's just check our hearts. We wanna be right before a holy and a just God. Heavenly Father, we thank you so much that you made a way for us to have a relationship with you. For your word tells us that we are saved from your wrath by the blood of Jesus Christ. We thank you for the Lord Jesus Christ coming, living a life of which we could not live, living a morally perfect life. and offering himself as a lamb without spot or blemish, and that his righteousness could be applied to us, and that our unrighteousness would be applied to him, so that we could have entrance into the kingdom of heaven. Lord, you are indeed a good God. We thank you again for Jesus Christ, amen, amen. We have a gluten-free symbol of the body of the Lord. If that's you, just raise your hand and I'll be more than glad to serve you. you you so On the night he's betrayed, Jesus took the bread and broke it and said, this bread is my body, symbolizing his moral perfection. This is my body given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. Let's remember Jesus. In the same way, Jesus took the cup and said, this cup is the new covenant in my blood. A blood, as Marlaine just played for us, that will never, ever lose its power. This is the blood of the new covenant. Let's remember Jesus. Father God, again, we thank you for Jesus. If it were not for Jesus, there would be no eternal life. Father God, I pray that your blessing would be upon all of us. We pray, Lord God, that we would be mindful every day of all the blessings that we have in Christ Jesus, that all the great and precious promises of God are yes and amen in Christ Jesus. Help us, Lord God, to focus our minds where it needs to be, on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We ask it in Jesus' name, amen and amen. Let's stand.
