were filled. So it's interesting if you look at, you're in John, look at the end of John chapter 2. The end of John chapter 2 verses 23 through 25 says, Now when he was in Jerusalem, this is Jesus at the Passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name. Praise the Lord! What does it take to be saved? You just believe on Christ and you're saved. The Philippian jailer, Went to Paul and he said, sirs, what must I do to be saved? What did Paul said? Well, you got to reform your life and you got to do this and you got to penance and get baptized. No, he said, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. You and all your house. Right. And so he went, they went and they preached the gospel to him. He got saved. They believed on Christ. They were baptized. All it takes is belief. Amen. But unfortunately, a lot of times what we see is sometimes it's the fault of the one who is doing the evangelism. They're seeking to get a decision instead of seeking to see God's gospel proclaimed so that someone would repent, believe the gospel, and be born again, right? And so sometimes it's the man's method. Sometimes we have no control over the reaction, right? Our job is to sow. We know there are four different types of reactions that we're gonna get according to the parable of the sober. We're gonna see stony ground, we're gonna see wayside ground, we're gonna see thorny ground, and we're gonna see good ground, right? So we don't control these things, but God knows the hearts, right? Even the Apostle Paul, when he was preaching in Acts chapter 17, he preaches in Areopagus, and we see that some mocked, Others say, we'll hear you again on this matter. But few of them believed, right? So we can't control the results, but we can't control what we do, right? So we can't control that we go out and we preach the gospel, right? But Jesus knew their hearts. It says, many believed in his name when they saw the miracles which he did. And that's very important. when they saw the miracles which he did. So they believed in him and their belief was he was gonna be this physical king of a physical kingdom. They weren't worried about their sins. They weren't worried about salvation from hell and things like that. They wanted to make him the physical king of a new empire. And they wanted to be involved in this wonderful revolution and make Jerusalem the capital of the world. But Jesus did not commit himself unto them. What's interesting is the Greek word in verse number 23 is the exact same one as believed on his name, pisteo, right? So Jesus didn't believe in them. Jesus did not believe in their belief. He did not commit himself unto them because he knew all men and needed not that any should testify of man, for he knew what was in men. He knew that they were believing, quote unquote, for the wrong reasons, right? They were believing because of the benefits that they would get from him being their king, their Messiah, right? They weren't repenting of their sins. They weren't believing the gospel. They weren't looking for salvation from God, right? And he says, you guys are so worried. They've been stressing out for days trying to find Jesus in our text. And he tells them in verse number 27, labor. And that's the Greek word ergazomai, right? It means to strive, to stress out over, to seek for, to labor, right? Labor not for the meat which perisheth, but for the meat which endureth unto eternal life. You're worried about the wrong things. They were worried about their bellies. I know we were worried about our bellies this afternoon, right? We got our bellies taken care of, right? We got the meat that perished. Now let's talk about the spiritual meat, right? So there's physical, there's spiritual. Each one of us, we have physical needs and we have spiritual needs. A lot of times we're so focused on the physical that we can't see what the true need that we all have is, right? And Jesus used their physical needs to show them that they were needing of something spiritually. They were needing of the meat, not the parishes, but the meat that endures unto everlasting life. And verse number 27 says, who gives it? Which the Son of Man shall give you. Who's that? Jesus Christ. I will give you. For him hath God the Father sealed. He's talking about himself in third person. Then said they unto them, what shall we do that we might work the works of God? So now they're thinking, okay, there's something that we need to do in order to get this meat that never perishes. So this meat that endures unto everlasting life, what do we have to do? And they use the same word that Jesus used in verse number 27, labor. What do we need to do? What striving do we need to do? What works do we need to do to earn this eternal life? Verse number 29, Jesus answered and said unto them, this is the work of God. What do I want from you? Nothing. He doesn't want any works. God does not want works. Works never front load the gospel. Works never front load faith. Even things like prayers for salvation. We can't front load anything. It's belief, right? The Bible says all that the 1 Corinthians 5.17 says, all those that are in Christ Jesus are new creations, old things are passed away, all things become new. Why do I work? Why do I serve God? Why do I enjoy reading my Bible and teaching my children about God, going to church, praying? Why do I? Why? Not to become saved, not to earn God's favor, but because God has given me a new heart. He's ripped out that stony heart. He's put inside me the heart of flesh. Now I have new, new, I have a goal in life, I have new desires. I used to live for myself, now I want to live for God. I want to do it, right? And so I live a new way because of the new life that God has placed inside of me. He says, this is the work of God that ye believe on him who he hath sent. Who's he talking about? He's talking about himself. You must believe on me. I don't want any work. I want you to believe on me. Verse number 30 says, Then they said therefore unto him, What sign showest thou then that we may see? Now think about what did Jesus just do? He just fed probably 20,000 people with one little boy's lunch. And now they're saying, what sign are you gonna show us so that we will believe on you, so that we'll believe that you're the Messiah? Now, yesterday, they were ready to, or a few days before, on the other side of the Sea of Galilee, they were ready to take him and make him king by force. Now they're saying, you need to show us, you need to prove to us, you need to do some more. Basically, they're trying to manipulate Jesus so that he will do more for them physically And then they don't even care about the spiritual side. They don't even care about the meat that endures into eternal life. He says, they say, what signs show us thou then that we may see and we may believe thee? What dost thou work? So they want Jesus to work for them to believe. Isn't that interesting? Our fathers, now listen to the gauntlet that they place in front of Jesus. Our fathers did eat manna in the desert. How long were they in the desert? 40 years. As it is written, he gave them bread from heaven to eat. So what are they talking about? They're talking about the manna. They're talking about the manna that Moses, as they say here in this verse, gave the children of Israel over the period of how many years? 40 years. Like you fed us one day, that's good. Why don't you feed us every day? That's what they're thinking. Now, are they talking about the meat that perishes or the meat that endures into eternal life? They're talking about the fish and the bread. They don't care about spiritual things. We see they're only focused on the physical. They're only focused on the here and now. They're only focused about the God of their belly, as the Bible talks about in other places. Verse number 32 says, Then said Jesus unto them, Verily, verily, truly, truly, listen up! Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven, but my Father giveth, present tense, you the true bread from heaven. So there, again, Jesus is taking the bread that Moses gave them, that was a miracle, every single day fed them, and he takes that illustration and he illustrates a spiritual truth. He did that same thing in John chapter four with the Samaritan woman, right? He looked at the Samaritan woman and he says, you drink of this water, you're gonna drink again. But if you drink of the water that I give you, you're gonna have a well inside of you that will spring out into eternal life. You will never thirst again. Moses gave you not that bread from heaven, but my father giveth, present tense. So he's talking about Moses gave you not that true bread from heaven, but my father giveth you the true bread from heaven. What is the true bread from heaven? Verse number 33 says, for the bread of God is he. The bread is a person. He which cometh down from heaven and giveth life unto the world. Who came down from heaven? Who gives life to the world? Only Jesus Christ. He's talking about himself here. Then said they unto him, Lord evermore give us this bread. Again, they're not talking about spiritual things. They're going back to, they keep, Jesus tries to move them to spiritual things, they keep going back to spiritual things. Okay, we're hungry, give us some bread, right? And then verse 35, Jesus shocks all of them. Speaks, he's saying, it's he that comes down from heaven, gives life to the world. Now he tells us who the bread of life is. Verse number 35. I apologize. I apologize. Verse number 35. And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life. He that cometh to me shall never hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. So if you come to the bread of life, if you come to Jesus, the Bible says you will never hunger. If you believe on Jesus, you will never thirst. Now is Jesus lying here? I was hungry before lunch. I was thirsty. Obviously, Jesus is talking about spiritual things. He keeps taking the physical object lessons, and he uses them to illustrate spiritual truths. What he's saying is, if you come to me in faith, I will give you eternal life and you will never hunger. It means you will never go seeking for anything else. I am your sustenance. You will never need anything else other than me. I am your bread. Now, we don't think about this very often, but bread was the apex of their food, of their diet at that time, basically, right? They ate bread for every meal. I mentioned the Ukrainians eat bread all the time for every single meal. Bread was the foundation for any meal, right? And so, literally, you could say, come over to my house for meal by saying, let's come over for bread. Let's go break bread together, right? So, you could literally, it was such a, staple of their culture, bread, that they could just say, come break bread with me. That means come over to my house for dinner. Not just bread, but other things, right? So Jesus says, if you take in the bread of life, he says, if you come to the bread of life, you'll never hunger. If you believe on the bread of life, you will never thirst. But I said unto you, verse number 36, that ye have also seen me and believe not. So it's saying, give us this bread, but they don't believe. They don't believe on Jesus Christ, right? So they're only focused on their physical needs. We see this over and over again. Verse number 37 says, What a great promise that is. That if we come to Jesus Christ, if you truly come, You will not be cast out. You will not be cast out. He will take you in. He will save you. It says, for I came down from heaven not to do mine own will, but the will of Him that sent me. Jesus came to do His Father's will. What's His Father's will? This is the Father's will, which He has sent me, that of all which He has given me, I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. It's eternal salvation, eternal security. We are secure in Christ Jesus. We don't secure ourselves. You cannot secure ourselves. In fact, if the safety of my salvation was dependent on me, I'd already lost it 10,000 times, right? But thank God that God saves forever. I thank God that God's salvation is eternal salvation, that he will raise me up again on the last day. Verse 40 says, May have everlasting life. That have is a present reality. You will not get everlasting life after salvation, but you receive it at the moment of faith. You don't get, some people think everlasting life starts at death. Nyet. No. Nyet is, you probably know that word. Sometimes Russian words spit out. I get a little mixed up. No. The Bible teaches us that all of those that believe at the moment of faith already have everlasting life. And then verse number 41, then the Jews murmured, So they went from a few days ago wanting to take him against his will and make him king, and then today they're like, okay, we'll believe in you, you just gotta do what Moses did. You just gotta feed us every single day, right? So they're kind of willing, open for, and then they're realizing that Jesus is not gonna be the kind of savior that they want, that they desire. You know, they're trying to make a god of their own image. They're willing to worship someone that, Comfortable for them someone that doesn't judge them for their sin someone that doesn't change their lifestyle Does it sound familiar with what some a lot of people want today? I mean you've got this mega church in Houston Many many many many thousands of people what they've made a god of their own imagination. They're not even worshiping the God of the Bible and They don't even know the God of the Bible. They don't know salvation. They don't know what true faith is. And they're all deceived. They're thinking that they're Christians and they're going to die and go to a devil's hell if we don't reach them. Verse 42 says, and they said, sorry, verse 41 says, didn't the Jews murmured at him? Because he says, I am the bread which came down from heaven. And they said, is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that he sayeth, I came down So these are people in Jesus's neck of the woods. This is Galilee. Jesus was born and raised in Nazareth, not too far from Capernaum. Some of them may have known about Jesus. Some of the people that were there may have saw him. Maybe some of them are from Nazareth. Maybe they know Joseph. Maybe they know Mary or Jesus's brothers and sisters. And they're like, how can he say he's from heaven when we know he's from Nazareth? Right, can anything good come out of Nazareth? Remember Andrew said that? So here they're saying, this guy's lying to us. He can't come down from heaven. Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, murmur not amongst yourselves. No man can come to me except the Father which hath sent me draw him, and I will raise him up at the last day. This is talking about the wonderful work of God in the hearts of someone whenever he's saving them. Whenever God saves someone, it's no credit. to that person. It's not dependent upon anything that someone can do or some works that someone can drum up in themselves. When someone is saved, it is all because of God and God's work in their heart. That's why we praise God for everything that he does when he saves them. We don't save people. People don't save themselves. It's God that saves them. Praise the Lord for that. Verse 45 says, it is written in the prophets, and they shall be taught of God. Every man, therefore, that hath heard and hath learned of the Father cometh unto me. Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he has seen the Father. Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that believeth on me present tense everlasting life and just in case they didn't catch it the first time he repeats in verse 48 I am that bread of life the bread of life that gives everlasting life now listen to this here in verses from verses 49 down he teaches the superiority of himself over any other type of bread. He said, your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness and are dead. Why are you worried about these physical things? Why are you worried about these physical needs? Look on your true need. Look on your need for salvation. He says, your fathers are dead. Verse number 58, 50 says, this is the bread which cometh down from heaven that a man may eat thereof and not die. So that when you eat, Jesus Christ, and we're gonna talk about that here in just a second. When you eat Jesus Christ, when you believe on Him, when you come to Him in faith, you will never die. And we obviously know this is not talking about physical death. Because there are many Christians, many faithful, faithful Christians, apostles, prophets, church leaders who have died in faith. Look at Hebrews chapter 11 if you don't believe me, right? Many that have died in faith and they're saved. So this is obviously talking about spiritual life. And what is physical life? Our life is like a vapor. It appears for a time, then vanishes away. Our life, our physical life is nothing, nothing in comparison to eternity. Verse 51 says, I am, third time, I am the living bread, which came down from heaven, if any man, praise the Lord, any man, right? Not just a few select, not people from a certain nation. In fact, Rome, I'm just gonna read you Revelation 5 real quick. Verse in Revelation 5, it says, Revelation 5 verse 9 says, and they, it's talking about the redeemed saints, they sung a new song saying, thou art worthy to take the book and open the seals thereof for thou was slain and has redeemed us to God by thy blood. Now listen to this, out of every kindred and tongue and people and nation. Praise the Lord for that. So Jesus says, I am the living bread, verse 51, that came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live forever. And the bread that I will give him is my flesh, which I give for the life of the world. So Jesus is saying here, I give myself for the world. I will die in your place. The Bible says Jesus tasted death for every man. Jesus died in our place. He took our penalty so that we can go free, right? He was a substitution for us. He's taken our penalty and we won't have to die. We can now live forever. Verse 52, the Jews therefore strove among themselves saying, how can this man give us his flesh to eat? Obviously cannibalism is something that was forbidden by the Mosaic law. It's something that's forbidden in the Bible. The Bible is not talking about cannibalism here. Verse 53, then Jesus said unto them, He explains to them what He's talking about. Verily, verily, truly, truly, listen up, I say unto you, except ye eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, ye have no life in you. Now I want you to notice something here. Except ye eat the flesh. Is this a past experience or is this a present reality? present reality. Eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood." Now, I'm a little nervous saying what I'm going to say, and if what I say is against what Pastor Simpson or Pastor Hudson says, I'm wrong, and you need to listen to them. So here's the deal. I do not believe that as we... let's read verse 54 real quick. whoso eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood hath eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. I'm very thankful for the faithfulness of your church and the wonderful testimony that your church is to other churches. And I unfortunately have seen, and we've heard from other pastors who, because of COVID, because of other things, they've started to lax on the ordinances. and ordinances are not a central part of worship anymore. I believe that the ordinances should be a central part of worship. I believe that's what the Bible teaches us, and I believe your church understands that, and that's why it is a central part of your church's worship. Ordinances do a lot for the church when they're administered properly in lieu of scriptural church discipline. It purifies the church. It gets the church unified, focused on the right things. It's very, very wonderful, but I don't think Jesus is talking about about the Lord's Supper in these verses. Why? Number one, there was no church at that time. They were not doing the Lord's Supper. Number two, if Jesus was referring to communion or the Lord's Supper, then he was saying that you need to partake in the Lord's Supper in order to be saved. So this is not talking about you must partake of the Lord's Supper in order to be saved. So here's what I believe. What does it mean to eat the flesh of the son of man and drink his blood? Verse 15 to five, let's read verse 55. It says, for my flesh is meat indeed and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth, this is present tense reality, my flesh, and drinketh, present tense reality, my blood, dwelleth, present tense reality, in me and I in him. "'as the living Father has sent me, "'and I live by the Father, "'so he that eateth,' present tense, "'me, even he shall live by me. "'This is that bread which came down from heaven, "'not as your fathers did eat manna and are dead. "'He that eateth of this bread shall live forever.'" And then at this point, he ends the discourse on the bread of life. And then if you look at the, let's just go ahead and read this, and then I'll go back to what I wanted to say here. These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. Many, therefore, of his disciples, when they had heard this, they said, This is a hard saying. Who can hear it? When Jesus knew in himself that the disciples murmured, This is not the multitude. These are his disciples murmured at it. He said unto them, Doth this offend you? What, and if ye shall see the Son of Man ascend up where he was before? It is the Spirit that quickeneth, the flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, they are life, but there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him. And he said, Therefore said I unto you, No man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my father. Now listen to verse 66. From that time, many of his disciples went back. These are not talking about the apostles. These are talking about the disciples, those that were following Jesus and said that they knew Jesus was the Messiah and stuff like that. This says, many of his disciples went back and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the 12, these are the apostles, will you also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Where else are we going to go? What is Peter proving here? Peter here is proving that he's tasted of the bread of life. He's not hungering, he's not thirsting, he's not seeking for satisfaction in anyone or anything else. Where else are we going to go? That's what a Christian says. Why are you going to church? Why are you doing this? What else? What else am I gonna do, right? I love God. I love God's people. I love God's church. I love God's word. What else am I gonna do? You alone have the words of eternal life, is what Peter says. And we believe and are sure that thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. You see two reactions to Jesus's message. You see the masses, 99 probably percent of the people that heard his words, they said, this is a hard saying. Who can hear this? Who can understand? Who can believe what he's saying? They leave him. And then he looks at his 12 and they said, where else are we going to go? Only you have the words of eternal life. And we know, we believe, and we're sure that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God. This is a confession of anyone who has believed, of anyone who has tasted and saw that the Lord is good. Now I want you to take notice. Jesus is the bread of life. I believe in what Jesus taught Nicodemus in John chapter 3, that we must be born again, that everyone must be born again, that there is a physical birth and there is a spiritual birth, right? If you're born once, you'll die twice. But if you're born twice, you only die once. There's a physical birth, there's a spiritual birth, there's a physical death, and there is a spiritual death. And I believe it is a radical transformation in someone's life when God saves them, when they believe on Christ, when they become the new creation, when old things are passed away, all things are become new. But let me tell you this, be careful. Be careful by thinking that because you have some type of religious experience in the past, that is the proof that you are a Christian. Because Jesus says here in John chapter six, that the proof that you are a Christian is you are continuing in the word. You're continuing to eat the flesh and you're continuing to drink the blood. And I'm gonna get to eating flesh and drinking blood in just one second. Look with me. I'm holding your attention for a reason. John chapter eight. John chapter eight, Jesus preaches to a large group of people, preaches about himself, preaches that he is the salvation. And look at verse number 30. This is at the end of his sermon. How do people take in Jesus's words? And as he spake these words, many believed on him. Praise the Lord. And you know what Jesus said unto them? He says, open your Bibles, write down this date in your Bible, and when Satan tries to tempt you, never doubt, because you have that religious experience in the past, and you've put your faith based upon what you felt at this one time that you've believed. No, that's not what Jesus says. What does Jesus say? Jesus said unto those Jews which believed on him, if ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed. And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. I want to explain here that we are not talking about work salvation. We are not saying that you cannot have assurance of your salvation until after many years of living for Christ. We are not saying that that you must earn your salvation in any way. We're not saying that salvation is not an event. It is not something that happens in your life, right? Salvation is not a process. We're not saying that. But what we are saying is that the proof of saving faith is the continuance in the Word. So someone could say that they have faith, saving faith, and then what happens when they fall away? I believe the Bible teaches us in Matthew chapter 3, the parable of the sower, sorry, it's Mark chapter 3, Mark chapter 4, Matthew chapter 13, and Luke chapter, I can't remember what it is in Luke, but anyways, the parable of the sower, right? There's two of the grounds that somewhat receive the word in some way, but they never brought forth fruit. Right? The stony ground, there was the very next day, the sun went up and it dried up the plant. The plant died before it had any fruit. This is someone that receives a word with excitement, but after some trouble, they fall away. And then there's the the third type of ground, the thorny ground. The thorns grow up, they choke the plant before it bears fruit. What is this talking about? It's talking about someone who, as Jesus says in his own words, the most important thing to this person is the cares of this world, the things of this life, the deceitfulness of riches, the Bible says. So God's not king for this person. God's not the most important thing in this person's life. They haven't changed. This is not salvation. This is a human-induced revolution. It's a reformation that someone has tried to make, but it's not a true saving faith. The Bible teaches that Saving faith will produce fruit. Remember, the Bible says there were three types of good ground. There was a good ground that brought forth 30-fold, 60-fold, and 100-fold. So there's differences in the amount of fruit that they produce, but they are always fruit-producing. Always fruit-producing. And the Bible teaches us over and over again, John chapter 8, he says, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed. Jesus is not teaching that you must continue to become God's disciples, but the proof that you are Jesus' disciple is that you continue in the word. The proof, the life lived is proof of the faith held, right? So someone cannot say, I'm a Christian that has made some type of profession, faith, and then their life hasn't changed. They've continued to live as they lived previously without any type of correction from God, because the Bible says, for whom the Lord loves, He corrects, just as the Father, the Son, and whom He delights, right? So we know that if someone is saved, they are born again, God will correct them, God will bring them back. Just man falls seven times, but God will raise him up, amen? And so we believe in the perseverance of the saints, that someone who is saved is saved forever. So, With that in mind, go back to John chapter seven and we'll close this. Then Jesus said, verse number 53, Verily, verily, I say unto you, except ye eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Think about this. What is the illustration of the bread of life? It is manna, right? Bread from heaven. Remember what those that received manna for the first time, remember what they said? What is it? That is literally what manna means. Manna means what is it, right? They had no clue what it was. They didn't know where it came from. They didn't know what it was consistent of. But you know what they started doing? They started taking that in. They started living off of that manna. They would consume the manna. They would consume that bread. And that bread gave them life. And they didn't eat manna one time and then they lived forever after eating one time. They continued to eat that manna. Let me tell you this, the proof that I Believed on Jesus Christ for my salvation is that I continue Believing on Jesus Christ the proof that I've repented of my sins is that I continue to live a life of repentance I continue to repent of my sins I continue to confess my sins as first first John 1 9 says to God who's faithful and just to forgive me of my sins and to cleanse me from all unrighteousness so the proof of of my life of faith is that I will continue. So those people, they didn't eat manna one time and they were good for 40 years, they ate manna over 40 years, right? They continued to eat. So those of you who've tasted and seen that the Lord is good, those of you that have taken in the breath of life, you are proving to us, you're proving to your church that you are a Christian by your continuance in the faith. by your serving the Lord, by your bringing forth those fruits in your life. You're serving God, you love God, you love the brethren, and you are proving to us and you're encouraging us by your continued faith. You don't eat Christ one time and he's enough, right? It says you're eating, right? Verse 53, except you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. This is a continual process. We have taken in Christ and we can only live on Christ. We believed on Christ and now we continue that life of faith. Amen? Now let me tell you this in conclusion. Those of you who have believed on Christ, those of you who have taken in the bread of life, who have tasted and seen that the Lord is good, continue. Continue that life. Continue to show forth that Jesus is your savior. Continue to show forth the wonderful works that he's done in your life, what he's done when he saved you, and what he is continuing to do in your life. Continue to make God's word manifest To all those that are around you continue to show forth God's salvation because there are many many people Who are only thinking about the physical? We'll go back to what we talked about the beginning and only they're only worried about the physical they don't see the spiritual So who do we pray to? We pray to God that He would draw them to Himself. We pray to God that He would open up their eyes, that He would turn them from darkness unto light, from the power of Satan unto the power of God, that He would translate them through us, through our faithful witness, through the Word of God, through the Gospel, from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of His dear Son. We know that we're living close to the end of Jesus' coming back. We see the signs of the time all around us. Let's be faithful a little bit longer. Northwest has such a wonderful reputation of being faithful to God and to His Word. Let's continue that reputation. So that whenever Jesus comes back, He says, well done. you good and faithful church and well done individually to you my good and faithful servants who shown forth the bread of life to those that are hungry spiritually to those that need the gospel to those that need the Savior. Verse number 35 of John 6 says, I am the bread of life He that cometh to me shall never hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. If you've received the bread of life, you are continuing to receive that bread of life. You're living. He is your sustenance. You're continuing to live Christ, right? You're living by Christ and through Christ, and you are manifesting Christ's love to this world that needs it. Let's continue it. Let's continue to be faithful till he comes back. Let's show forth our faith. Let's show forth God's salvation. Praise the Lord for what he's done. Let's pray. Heavenly Father, I thank you so much for this time you've given us to come together into your house to hear your word preached. Lord, I thank you for the church and the faithful reputation that this church has. Lord, I pray that you would help this church in this year and the years to come to stay faithful. Lord, to show forth your salvation, show forth your bread of life. Lord, to prove to the world here, to prove to North Houston that There is a church here of people who love you, who have been transformed by you, who have a desire to see people come to know Him. They show forth that in their works as it says in... In your word, in Matthew chapter 5, they're like the city that set on the hill, they let their works shine before men so that they may see their good works and glorify you. Not this church, but we pray that you would be honored and glorified through this church. This church was created was started for your honor and for your glory. Lord, I pray that those here who have received the word of life would continue to in boldness proclaim your glory and proclaim your salvation because all other ground is sinking sand. All other bread is bread that perishes. Lord, help them to know the bread that endures into eternal life. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
