A happy New Year to all our readers!!

"1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish."

God Bless!

STOICISM

As most Greeks, the Stoics believed that a human being had a soul. For the Stoics, the soul was corporeal, and was diffused throughout the body. (The individual soul was actually a part of the world-soul.) Diogenes says, "And the soul is a nature capable of perception. And they regard it as a breath of life, congenital with us; from which they infer that it is a body and secondly that it survives death" (Lives, 156). The soul is that which comes into contact with objects outside the perceiver by means of the five senses, which are called parts [or better "functions"] of the soul. The perception of an object by the soul through one of the five senses the Stoics called "presentation" (phantasia). Diogenes explains, "A presentation is an imprint on the soul; the name having been appropriately borrowed from the imprint made by the seal upon the wax" (Lives, 7.45). The soul is like a wax tablet and the object perceived is like a seal that impresses a copy of itself into the wax. (Chrysippus warns, however, that one should not think that literally an object impresses itself upon the soul"

To all the commentators on SA.
May the Lord bring you blessings in the new year of 2009. May HE keep you in His Grace. May you serve Jesus Christ and walk by faith not by sight.

24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

And some estimate that OVER 50% of India's grain is eaten by rats which many millions worship according to their Hinduism.
I can see how additives in Pepsi and Coke are of the utmost importance to that enlightened society!

Don't think this doesn't apply to us either.

It seems deathly quiet on the comments board these days.
Merely a period of mourning, Scottie. The election results due to ignorant voting, bad financial situation created by government, (not financial institutions) market instability, fear of recession fulfilling its own prophecy, the country moving stupidly left, which must make things worse, because leftists are SO dumb, etc. Other than that, everthing is fine! Went to Walmart the other day, the parking lot was full. Guess no one told those folk how bad things are. The price of gasoline is half what it was a few months ago. This is being ignored by the liberal media. Doesn't fit the template that says today's news must be bad. Besides, how can they say anything good while Bush is still in office? Once Obama is in, I suspect we'll see less bad news. It will just miraculous how things seem to improve!

Coke or Pepsi? Neither. Dr. Pepper.

Larry Burkett is in heaven now, but he predicted the Coming Economic Earthquake. The thing is - he was right - just a few years off.

So, we are sadly and quietly watching the collapse - wondering when the free fall will stop. Maybe that's why there is this "sound of silence" from this side of the pond.

I think this closely reflects the categorisation of views on most points of theology here.
I also think it would be easier to change people's soft-drink habits than their theological views...
I, being of sound mind, prefer Dr. Pepper.
