Raymond Johnson

Missionary Raymond Johnson is a member of the Choctaw Nation in Oklahoma. He is committed to expository preaching, strong doctrine, mission work, and evangelism. He and his wife Deborah have served the Lord full time as missionaries to Native American’s since 1981. Raymond was saved and called to preach at the age of 17. Pine Grove Baptist Church licensed him to preach in October of 1973 and Sardis Baptist Church ordained him to the ministry December 19, 1976. Prior to full time mission work, Raymond pastored both Indian and Non-Indian Baptist Churches. The Johnson’s are sent out by Big Cove Baptist Church in Cherokee, NC. The Lord has allowed them to work with Native Americans in Oklahoma, Iowa, Canada, Washington State, North Carolina, and Mississippi. Raymond has planted churches and preached on a number of Indian reservations in evangelistic meetings. They have helped to reprint the Choctaw Bible, Choctaw Hymn book, Choctaw Dictionary, various tracts, study helps in the Choctaw Language, and to record several CD’s of Choctaw Hymn Singing. It is their desire to continue to reach Native Americans with the gospel, help in the training of young preachers and to plant churches among Native people. Read more at www.TheBaptistArrow.com.
