Dean Linsky

Dean grew up in the central Pennsylvania town of State College where Penn State University is located. His father, until his death in the 1959 crash of TWA flight 891 over Milan, Italy, was Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering at the university.

Dean's spiritual background as a child was in the United Presbyterian church where he heard preaching that taught salvation by church involvement and moral improvement.

His conversion came in 1968 as a high school junior as a result of hearing the gospel presented by a para-church evangelist working with the Young Life organization.

As a student at Penn State Dean became active in Campus Crusade for Christ through which he was trained in evangelism, discipleship, and Jesus' strategy of training disciples by small groups. In the summer of his junior year he served as an evangelist helping to plant the Church of the Savior in Wayne, PA. That summer he met four seniors from Dallas Theological Seminary who were also working on the church plant project. Through their influence Dean determined to train for pastoral ministry at Dallas Seminary. Before beginning seminary, Dean married Connie, his college sweetheart and fellow leader in Campus Crusade.

Having received his Master of Theology degree at Dallas, he embarked on his first pastoral ministry in a small independent church in southeastern PA where he was able to work on his skills in expository preaching and pastoral ministry. Unfortunately, the ministry could not support Dean's growing family and the need arose for several years of work in the Automobile and insurance industries.

In 1992 he was called with Connie and their five sons to shepherd Reading Evangelical Free Church in Reading, PA. Over the next 28 years Dean enjoyed his pastoral ministry which saw the church grow, relocate, and continue to expand. With the relocation being away from the city of Reading, a name change was made to "CrossWay Church". In 2018 CrossWay Church called Greg Laskow to be mentored by Dean for the Senior Pastor position. That transition in leadership took place when Dean retired in 2020.

Dean and Connie continue actively involved in CrossWay church. He and Connie also enjoy spending time with his sons' families (16 grandchildren) all of whom have trusted Christ as Savior and actively serve in their respective churches.
